Wilson, James Campbell “Jim” – Peacefully on July 23, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones, Jim lost his short battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by wife Ronda, children Erinn & Brett, Shannon & James, Graham & Hailley, sisters Ann and Peg, mother-in-law Dorothy and many close family and friends. Being Grandad to Olivia, Sophia, Noah and Madeleine was one of his greatest joys. He is forever part of them, proud of them and with them in many wonderful memories. Special thanks to Kevin, Diane, John & Dr. David Johns along with the staff/volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for taking care of Jim and our family. Jim experienced many accomplishments in his 40 years at Dofasco & enjoyed his appointment to the board of the St. Lawrence Seaway making many friends and colleagues. He inspired everyone with his strength, quick wit, wisdom, zest to try anything and make it fun. Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, August 6th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street. Dundas. Please come with a fond memory of Jim to share with his family and help us celebrate this wonderful man. In lieu of flowers please support the Cancer Assistance Program or the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Jim’s name, we are grateful for all their support in his final journey. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Dorpmans, Egbertus Arnoldus II (Bert) – Bert passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2016 in his 84th year. Left behind by his beloved wife Maria, son Bert and daughter-in-law Debra. He will be remembered by his family and friends in Canada and in Holland. Bert had many talents. He had a keen, inquisitive mind which reflected in his passions as a skilled craftsman and visual artist. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and especially the Nephrology Unit lead by Dr. Sapir. A Memorial for Life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital c/o the Nephrology Unit or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

MacRury, Brendan David – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brendan who died suddenly at McMaster Hospital. Cherished husband to Michelle Parrish and loving daddy to Havana. Brendan was the beloved son of Jan Freeman and Alastair MacRury and brother to Kiara (Thomas) and uncle to Natalie. He will be sadly missed by close family friend, Thomas Waram. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts Judy Freeman-Werstiuk (Nick), Marita MacRury Easton (Ken, deceased), uncles Russ Freeman (Lynn), Ross Freeman (Kelli), and cousins Christopher Freeman (Colleen), Paul Freeman (Miranda), Angela Freeman, Brittany Gordon (Josh), Kendall Perro (Luke), Connor Werstiuk as well as many second cousins. He will be welcomed home by all his grandparents. Brendan will also be missed by his many loyal friends. Despite his many struggles and challenges, Brendan made a great impact on his world. He had a strong sense of justice and beneath his rough exterior, had a gentle and loving heart. He passionately loved his family, had a firm belief in God and dreamed of a better world. Brendan has a special place in the heart of Havana whom he adored. He will be remembered by his friends as one who had a strong sense of loyalty, and who loved music that had a powerful message. Above all, Brendan loved to run and exert himself to the limit. We want to express our gratitude to all those who valiantly strived to save Brendan`s life at McMaster Children`s Hospital Emergency Room. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening, July 18th from 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Brendan’s Service will take place on Tuesday morning at 11:00. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. If you so wish, donations to Brendan’s stepdaughter, Havana (In Trust) would be greatly appreciated.

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on July 3, 2016. Loving wife of Russell. Dedicated teacher for the Scarborough Board of Education for over 25 years. Passionate lover of music and art. Friends and family are invited to St. Paul’s United Church 29 Park St. W Dundas on Friday June 8th at 11:00 for a memorial service. Sandi was full of colour! Pope, Daniel Arthur- After a short battle with cancer, passed away at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on June 27, 2016 in his 73rd Year. Dan is survived by his loving wife Ann (51 Years) and his children, Tracey (Alan), Dan and Brent. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Aidan and Gwen and siblings Frank, Karyl, Mary, Margaret (deceased) and Harold. Dan farmed in Copetown until 1983 and then entered the real estate business locally (over 30 Years) as well as continuing with the family Dansway Trucking business with his son Dan. Dan’s Service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, ON, on Thursday, June 30th at 1 p.m. The interment will be at Mount Zion Cemetery, 2nd Concession, with a reception to follow at Copetown Lions Club. Donations to the Copetown Lions Club would be greatly appreciated by the family.

O’Connor, Barbara Marie (nee Gillies) – Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Hamilton General Hospital, on Sunday, June 26th, 2016. Barbara O’Connor, beloved wife of the late Gerald William O’Connor (2007) for 55 years. Much loved mother of Brenda and William MacRae of Timmins, Gerald “Larry” and Dawn O’Connor of Dundas, Suzanne and Neil Robertson of Copetown and Barbara and Stan Holiday of Brampton. Loving grandmother to Andrew MacRae (Carla), Robert MacRae (Beth), Virginia MacRae, Adam O’Connor (Lana), Breanne Ingram (Darius), Timothy O’Connor (Sarah), Victoria O’Connor, Kathryn Robertson, Alexander Robertson, Stephen Holiday, Jeffrey Holiday and Christopher Holiday. Great-grandmother to William and James MacRae, Ian and Noah MacRae, Delaney and Duncan Ingram and Macie and Madison O’Connor. Dearly missed by her brother Archie Gillies of Southampton. She was predeceased by her brothers Claire Gillies and Bruce Gillies. Much loved sister-in-law to Fran Gillies, Joyce Gillies, Irene O’Connor, Ray and Margaret O’Connor, Leo O’Connor and Rita Mooney. Barbara graduated from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and went on to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton for many years followed by a position at Union Drawn Steel of Hamilton. She was a long time member of the C.W.L. of the St. Augustine’s Parish and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Grateful thanks to her devoted companions, over the past few years, Anne, Judy, Pat, Irene and Natalia. You made her life so much richer and we appreciate your compassionate care of our mother. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Funeral Mass will be offered at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to either the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Good Shepherd Centres would be appreciated by the family.
