Guy Russell Hunt passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Born on June 28, 1930 and raised in Lynden, Ontario, Guy was never far away from his Copetown-Sheffield family roots. Guy was predeceased by his mother Hazel (nee Russell), father George, brother Carol, sister Barbara (Ed Olmsted) and sister Patricia (Bob Marshall). He was also predeceased by his in-laws Rev. George Cardy (Dilys), Clara Clare (Ed), brother in-law Ross and stepsister in-law Anna Lyn (Andrew). He is survived by his loving wife Helen (nee Cardy) of 69 years who was his devoted soulmate since grade school. He leaves behind his son Kevin and wife Lucy, along with grandsons Ryan and Anthony who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers and best friends who were always there for each other: Jack (Wilma – deceased), Bob (Joyce), Jim (Lois) and David (Jorie). He leaves behind his sister-in-law Barbara (Bill – deceased), stepsisters-in-law Susan (David – deceased) and Jackie as well as many nieces and nephews. Guy started his career as a carpenter for Smitty Construction in the late 1940’s working up to the role of lead foreman where he helped create many of the unique buildings standing along the Mountain Brow today. In the 1960’s, Guy started working for Dofasco as a millwright with Blast Furnace Mechanical as a Group Leader looking after steel construction in the Bayfront until he retired in 1987. Since his retirement, Guy put his talents to use and kept busy with wood-working creations that now he leaves behind. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at both the Hamilton General and St. Peter’s Hospitals over the last few years. Special thanks and appreciation from the family to Dr. Richard Packer for his constant devotion and understanding care over the many years. A Service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. A time of fellowship at the Cattel Centre located next door to the funeral home will take place after the interment.

December 14, 1936 – November 2, 2019
After a lengthy illness, Raymond passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at St. Peter’s Hospital on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Predeceased by his loving partner Joan (2015). Raymond is survived by his brother Peter (Shirley); daughter Jayne; grandson Shane and son Andrew. He will be remembered by Ian, Simon and Liam, great friends Steve and Janet and companion Jill as well as many friends and neighbours locally and in England. Thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness and compassion during his final journey, especially his family doctor Julie Emili. Friends will be received on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Raymond’s Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, Juravinski Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Predeceased by his first wife Betty. Dearly loved and missed by his wife Donna; children Colleen Shaw, Kathryn Black and Diane Payne (Art); daughter-in-law Marion Shaw; grandchildren Barbara, Donna, Laura, Gary, Mark, Pamela, Christopher, Michael and Laurel; step-children Brian and Elaine; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; Thomas “Jim” Shaw (Dorothy), sister Claire Lahie and sister-in-law Alice Black (Jim). Predeceased by his son Glenn; step-daughter Janet; brothers George Shaw (Patricia) and Clarence “Dude” Shaw; sisters Marion Allan , Margaret “Beth” Munro (Glen), and Mildred Mayberry (Bill); and brother-in-law Kenneth “Ken”. Don had numerous vocations throughout his life. He was a former employee of Bell Canada, a chicken farmer, was adept at using his hands and all kinds of tools. He enjoyed a good round of golf, was a member of the Rockton Lions club, an avid curler at the Dundas Granite Curling Club, and belonged to the Men’s Club and the ‘Thursday Afternoon Singers’ at St. Paul’s United Church where he was a long-time member. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, in Dundas, for the exceptional care given to him during his time there. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date. If you so wish, donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Dundas or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, October 28, 2019 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Artur. Loving mother to Rolfe (Marion), Vern, John (Deanne), Victor (Heather) and Doris (Rob). Caring grandmother to Matthew, Colin, Erika, Lauren, Andrew, Kevin and Kate and great-grandmother to Lissette Andrea, Aliyah and Jayden. Hedwig was a long time resident of Dundas and happiest when spending time at home with her family and tending to her garden. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas, on Sunday November 3, 2019 from 6 – 8pm. A private family service and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet mother Patricia (Pat). Pat died peacefully at Shalom Village, West Hamilton, on Sunday, October 27th. Predeceased by her husband Max, her parents, Bob and Kitty Wilson, and her sisters, Kay, Violet, Frances and Irene. Loving mother to Bob and Judy Taylor and Lisa and Steve Nicholson. Cherished grandmother to Leah, Zachary and Kara. Also survived by her sister Audrey Lightfoot and her nieces and nephews. Pat’s family meant everything to her, she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. In her own way, she was a witty lady with a contagious little laugh and cute smile. Passed away on Sunday, October 27 at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville in his 68th year. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Alma Eagle. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Neal), and loving brother to Dave (Debbie) and Don (Shirley), and brother-in-law to Brenda Stewart (Gil), Nancy Benoit and Christine Swioklo (Kurt). Sadly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. John was an a Ham Radio enthusiast. Friends are invited to a Celebration of John’s Life on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, followed by a reception next door at the Cattel Centre.
