GORD: Peacefully on May 25, 2023, in his 97th year.
Beloved husband of the late Jean Margaret (Cliff) (2016) Loving father of Barbara Coit (Donald), Dawn Marie Hart (Brian), Judith Birthelmer (Michael). Proud grandfather to Brittany and Brandon Hart.
Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Edna Hill, his son David, his brothers Leslie (Thelma) and Bruce and his sister Alvina.
A life-long resident of the Town of Dundas and long-time employee of Bell Canada, Gord was an avid baseball enthusiast and an active volunteer in the community his entire life.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Margaret’s Place Hospice for the excellent care provided to Gord during his stay. We would also like to extend a special thank you to our friends, everyone at the LIHN, Stay at Home Nursing, Paramed and the Palliative Care Team who helped Gord over the past months.
Expressions of sympathy to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. As per Gord’s wishes, cremation and a private burial have taken place.
Passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital on May 22nd 2023 in her 65th year. Loving wife of 41 years to Don, and beloved mother of children Laura & Tara. Will be sadly missed by siblings Debbie (Don), Barry (Cathy), & Brian, and many nieces, nephews & cousins. Brenda is predeceased by her parents Peter and Irene Miller, and her brother Bob (Diane). Brenda was a friend and a listening ear to many, and her kind heart was a treasure to everyone around her, she loved her family and friends very much. A private celebration will be held for Brenda at a later date. We would like to thank our family and friends for their support and the nurses and doctors at Lynden Family Practice and Brantford General Hospital for their care and compassion.
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my brother Andrew William Watson on May 20, 2023 at the Dr Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton after a short battle with cancer.
Andy was born on November 28, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario. Andy was predeceased by his loving parents Gordon Watson and Joyce Watson (nee Webb).
He is survived by his sister Sara Bertie Crocker, Uncle Dave Webb, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Andy grew up on Finch Avenue in Agincourt surrounded by many of his family members. Andy was fortunate to have many of his cousins live close by, where they spent endless days happily playing together.
Andy was a loving, kind and gentle soul. Andy enjoyed visiting family and keeping in touch with his family and friends through Facebook. Andy enjoyed history, watching sports, playing cards, old movies and music. His favourite musician by far was Elvis Presley. He also enjoyed listening to Roy Orbison, Elton John and Willie Nelson. When Andy was a young man, he was the proud owner of a Corvette Stingray and a Trans Am.
The second half of Andy’s life was spent living and working in Hamilton. Andy made some very good friends which were like a second family to him. He spoke very highly of his dear friends, Sandra Molnar, Sarah Molnar, Shianne Molnar, Jeff Hogan and Nikki Rottenberg. Andy was often included in the Molnar family functions. His friends in Hamilton were very supportive during Andy’s illness.
Andy will be deeply missed by his sister and all his family and friends. Andy will be cremated and there is no service planned at this time. Donations in memory of Andy can be made to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton.
It is with great sorrow that we mark the passing of Alan Lawrence Macdonald. Alan passed away peacefully on May 16, at the age of 95. He was a loving husband to Patricia (dec) and father to Colin (dec), Doug (Ava Armstrong), Glenn (Donna Macdonald), and Scott (Marianne Yong-Macdonald). Alan was brother to Colin, Rod, Malcolm and is survived by his wonderful sister, Jean (Murray Cockburn).
He is Grandfather to Corinna, Benjamin, Adrienne, Heather, Margot, Mawgan, Malcolm, Kipp, Kiana and Naaman. And, he is Great Grandfather to Theodore, Emanuele, Isla, Harrison, Marlow, and Avalyn.
As one of our friends put it, “Al was a larger than life character.” He will be missed dearly. Special thanks to the caring staff at Idlewyld Manor.

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Long announces his passing, with his family at his side, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on May 14, 2023. Dearly loved husband of the late Bernice Long and remembered with abiding love by children Janice and Jamie.
Born in Dunnville, to the late John Pratten Long and Alberta Regina (Nie) Long, Jack enjoyed the love of five older brothers: Bill, Fred, Chuck, Tom, and Don, all of whom predeceased him. Jack will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews and their families, as well as dear friends. Jack also leaves behind his adored cat, Victoria.
Jack began his career as a classroom teacher at the age of 19 and remained a dedicated educator for 36 years, teaching and supporting students as well as those who taught them. Jack’s generosity and kindness will be warmly remembered by many. Thank you to the teams at Amica Dundas and St. Joseph’s Hospital for your kind care and support.
