Born March 30th, 1924. Mary Beth passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Good Friday, April 19th, 2019 in her 96th year, surrounded by family. Survived by her brother, Rev. Donald C. Brown and family; daughter, Susan Gogishvili and family; son, Charles Cummins and family; and the Capper and Munn families. She was an active member of St. James Anglican Church in Dundas and a teacher in the Hamilton Elementary School System for 29 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, aunt and friend to many and will be lovingly remembered. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, May 4th, followed by a Celebration of Life which will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Baranga’s On-The-Beach, 380 Van Wagners Beach Road, Hamilton. All are welcome. Memorial donations to St. James would be appreciated by the family.

Shaw, Garry Michael – Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Danielle. Caring brother to Rhona, Peter (Becky), and John Shaw (Mary). Beloved brother-in-law to John Segato (Debbie). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John and Helen Shaw of Greenock, Scotland. Garry loved golfing with his friends. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and would try to golf abroad when possible. He enjoyed discussing politics as well as current events and would contribute letters to the editor in the Spectator. Garry had a great sense of humour and loved to debate. He loved his dogs, Dexter and Dusty, and missed Toto (2015) greatly. He enjoyed taking them for walks to the park. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Wednesday, April 24th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Donations can be made in memory to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.

Green, Jack Frederick – Of Dundas passed away at St. Joseph Hospital peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the age of 94. Born on January 26, 1925 in Hamilton. He was the son of Allen and Alice Green. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma. Jack grew up in West Hamilton with a shot gun and fishing pole in his hands, he loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping or just enjoying a long walk. Jack also enjoyed watching sports and was a familiar face around the local ball diamonds and arenas as he followed the local sports teams. Jack always seemed to have a smile on his face and a witty comment or come back for you. Surviving Jack are his son Brett (Louie) Green of Dundas and daughter Darci Beamish (Green) of Calgary, her three children Christopher Beamish (Melissa), Kimberly Vockins (Beamish) and Cameron Beamish and his two great-grandchildren Marshall and Vayda. As well as his brother Dave, brothers-in-law Brad Clarke, Jack Peer & sister-in-law Jane Biggins. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Christine Green and son-in-law Dale Beamish, brothers Allen, Alf, Art, Ernest and sisters Sally Peer, Annalea (Polly) Clarke, Mary Campbell and Ellen Held. Jack will be missed by all his surviving family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. West and all the nurses and staff at Blackadars Continuing Care for all the compassion and care shown to Jack during his stay. In keeping with Jack’s wishes cremation has taken place and interment will take place at graveside with his family. If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.

June 7, 1934 – April 12, 2019
Peacefully, and with a valiant determination to stay, Mom lost her battle with cancer at the age of 84. She left this world on her own terms, in her own home and with her children by her side. She leaves now to join her beloved husband Carl. We find comfort in knowing that no finer man could be waiting for her on the other side. Finding strength in her spirit forevermore are her children, Steve (Lorraine), Fred (Sally), Jeff (Karen) and Cyndi, and her grandchildren; Stefanie and Jorden Moir, Tammy Billard, Alanah Head, Erin Sneyd, Lindsay and Chelsea Moir, Kylie Harris and Cody Howard and her great-grandchildren, Sophia, James, Autumn, Charlotte and Everly. They will grow to know their Great-Grandma through our stories and remembrances. Mom also leaves behind her step-children, Karla, Kelly and Kamala and her sisters, Anne Litzen and Val Owens. Mom is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mabel, and her siblings, Shirley, George and Jim. Mom was retired from the A&P in Dundas and loved playing cards, winning at the casino and spending time at the Hamilton Air Force club. She leaves behind her cat Pepper, who continues to search for her since her passing. We thank Dr. Kouroukis, without whom she may not have had the opportunity to meet her great grandchildren. We thank Dr. Anna-Marie Emili who, with her care and commitment, made mom’s passing as peaceful as possible. Lastly, we would like to extend our appreciation to our support team, PSW’s Michelle, Vicky and Mary, VON and LHIN staff who supported us in mom’s final days. Special thanks to Colleen and George. Gumbert (Main), Kimberley – Kim passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on March 28th, 2019, following a hard fought battle with cancer. She will be missed by her husband of 26 years, Stephen, their daughters Helena (Cameron) and Lisa (Matthew); grandchildren, Sebastian and Olivia, her brother Terry; her in-laws Kelly (Bruce Christian) and Bill (Carol Gumbert) and all of her extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her many dear friends; and is predeceased by her parents Bill and Joanne (Main). Kim was always the life of the party; she was a person that always looked out for everyone, whether it was as a daycare provider, red hatter, or a member of Dundas Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Dundas Baptist Church (201 Governors Rd.) followed by a reception at the Hamilton Air Force Association (128 King St. E., Dundas). A special thanks to Dr. G. Kazemi and the wonderful staff of Juravinski Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation or Dundas Baptist Church.
