Peacefully at his home, on Friday, February 11, 2022, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Christine (nee Allaby) and dear father of Douglas and Katie. Loving brother to Greg (Pat), Bev Westoby, Wendy (Dave) Brenn, Bill (Cindy), John (Kim), Glenn (Brenda), Shari Sonoda (Dave) and Jamie (Katherine). Predeceased by his parents Norm (1998) and Norma (1999) and his brother David (1997). Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob’s life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

When I think back about my early childhood, I have so many memories of the Westoby/McDonough family interactions, both in Dundas and Westover. There was always laughter and stories to be told. The Westoby family has always had a special place in my heart.

Our family lived just around the corner from the Westobys and shared lots of good times (hide and seek, road hockey, baseball at the flats) – always fun to be with the big happy family on Brock Street. Bob was my age and we hung out together as kids. My sympathies to Chris, Katie & Doug, and the whole Westoby family.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Living directly across from the Westoby clan on Brock Street, Bob and I spent hours playing road hockey and football. Bob like his dad Norm was always quick with a joke, always kept us laughing at our poker games . We wore a path across the flats on the way to District High every morning. Sorry to hear about those who passed away. I remember Westoby when I lived at 34 Brock street. Susan Batttrick , Wendy and I with my sister when to school together. I remember Bob he was only 2 years older than me.
