It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Patrick Donovan, a deeply loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend of many on June 5th , 2026 at the age of 76. Ronald is now reunited with his beloved wife, Patricia, who predeceased him.
He will be forever in the hearts of his children Joelle (Mike), Alethea, and Nathan (Shannon) and his grandchildren Corrinne, Darryn, Dara, Adanna, Ava, Erryn, and Bennett, as well as his sisters Donna and MaryEllen (Dennis).
After a long career as a heavy equipment appraiser, he settled into retirement and volunteered his time tending the gardens at the Stedman Community Hospice, serving Meals on Wheels, and assisting at the Paris Fair. His warmth, work ethic, and community spirit touched many lives. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking his beloved dog, Cece for many walks, and often stopping and talking to neighbours, who quickly became friends.
His biggest love in life, however, was his grandchildren, and spending time with them. Whether it was listening to their stories, watching a soccer game or dance recital, or simply having a meal with them, he enjoyed it all, watching them grow and flourish. He cherished every single moment with them, leaving them with an endless supply of love and cherished memories. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 6-8p.m. for a visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 11a.m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stedman Community Hospice.

Memories bring smiles to your heart. I had the pleasure of Ron helping me out in the kitchen many times at the Paris fair. He always had a smile and a quick remark to make our job so enjoyable. As mentioned there was always a story shared about family especially his grandkids. My thoughts and prayers are with your family on the loss of a special gentleman
I didn’t know Ron for long, but he made me feel very welcome when I joined the team at Stedman Community Hospice. Ron was kind, gentle, funny, determined, and was always up to take a walk in the gardens and share stories with me. I appreciate what he brought into our world, and I will have fond memories of him for years to come.

This truly saddens me to hear, Ron was my favourite volunteer at the Paris fair in the kitchen with me, I met him two summers ago and enjoyed my time with him, we hit it off right away, the first day I called him John and he always answered! lol layer to find out his name was really Ron! I was also lucky enough to take care of him a few times at the BGH! He talked about his wife and how much he missed her, talked about his grandchildren and how he had a very important date on Friday night with his grandson for the durby! He had to be out of the kitchen in time to make his important date! I stumbled across them in the grand stands and he was beaming from ear to ear! He truly was the kindest man, so sweet and excited to see me each time we were able to interact! I honestly only knew Ron for a short period of time but he touched my heart and I truly thought so highly of him, he truly felt like a grandfather figure! I wish I had a chance to thank him for his kindness! Rest easy Ron, you are now reunited with your wife! Thoughts to his wonderful daughter and family!
I met Ron while he was volunteering in the kitchen at fair time. I quickly recruited him to help on my cooking team. He was an awesome worker in the kitchen. Such a positive gentleman. He was so proud of his family especially the grandkids. I know he had a serious surgery but was praying for a positive outcome. Ron will be truly missed. My sincere to family.
