Born in Brantford Ontario. Daughter of the late George Olsoufieff and
Alexandra Miloradovitch. Beloved wife, mother and sister passed away suddenly in
Hamilton, Ontario on October 21st at the age of 75. Dorothy was our protector, fierce
and loyal. She radiated strength and passion for her family and anything that interested
her. She had a love of everything creative — from fashion and sewing, to drawing and
painting, photography and gardening, crosswords and puzzles, restoring furniture and
renovating interiors — and she excelled at them all. She knew how to do so many
things, so many. She was an impressive cook and an even better baker. She welcomed
a road trip and being in nature, especially when camping. She loved to be around family
and celebrate traditions. She met Andrew at Loyola College in Montreal and would have
celebrated 55 years of marriage this December. She loved a good story, always turned
up her favorite song and had a wonderful sense of humor. She believed in a strong work
ethic and to be the best at whatever you did, to be independent and resilient. She had a
soft spot for animals and was always surrounded by doting cats and dogs over the
years. She felt they were family and treated them as such. She will be deeply missed by
her loving husband Andrew, her children Tania, Christopher and Alexa, and her sisters
Olga, Alina, Maria and Helen, as well as extended family and many friends. Cremation
has taken place. A memorial will be held with family at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
In such few words you have captured her incredible essence. She was an amazing person and will be very missed by all who knew her.
Very beautiful and inspiring testimony . Our deepest condolences to Andrew that we have known for over 50 years and to the whole family and friends.
May Dorothy rest in peace . God bless.
She was an incredible woman. This news has come as a shock. I just spoke with her and Andrew on Friday as we were gardening in our backyards. Nothing would get in the way of Dorothy from doing the things that she loved. We were very fortune to be her and Andrew’s neighbours for the past 9 years. We will miss her dearly.
I first met Dorothy as we walked with our yellow labs In the nearby park & rail trail. She was always delighted to see you, happy and ready with a story or two. We also shared a love of gardening, but what I’ll remember most was, during the last few years, while dealing with the constant physical pain, she remained so determined and positive in her outlook. May she be in peace now.
Andrew, to say we are stunned and shocked is a huge understatement. Our thoughts are with all of you. When we last spoke you spoke of Dorothy’s struggles with mobility and how you were hoping for better times after her scheduled surgery. What a total shock this is.
Terry and I met Dorothy and Andrew via the dog park when we moved to Dundas in 2012. Dorothy always had stories to tell and spoke with humour. We knew she had incredible back pain yet she would force herself to move.
We are so sorry for your loss Andrew.
My heart goes out to you Andrew. Such a loss. And, so sudden. Thank you for this beautiful memorial page.

Dear Andrew,
We are so saddened by this tragic news.
But we are glad that we did meet Dorothy, even if it was only once, in February last year.
Even in those few hours she showed much of the character, interests and talents that you described so well in your moving obituary notes.
We know she will be much missed, by so many.
Our hearts are with you and the family,
Bruce and Natacha Huggett (Oxford,UK)
Please accept my heartfelt condolences Andrew and family.
Dorothy was one of a kind and it was always a pleasure to see her with our dogs in the park and share stories and laughter.
What a lady she will be greatly missed.
Dear Andrew and family
We are so sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. She was always such a positive force – if we saw her at the dog gathering we always felt her sunny disposition.

Dear Andrew,
We are so very sorry for your loss and wish to extend our condolences to you and your entire family. We have fond memories of Dorothy and she is exactly as described in the announcement. Even in the short period of time we spent with her in Cabbagetown, we recognized she was very capable and the embodiment of strength and industriousness. We empathize with the drastic change and adjustments you will be facing after so many years of marriage and being together. We hope in time, you will be bolstered by happy memories and you can take comfort in the support of family and friends. You will certainly be in our hearts and thoughts.
Our deepest regard,
Yvonne & Pierre 💕

Please accept our deepest condolences, Andrew and family. I talked to Dorothy many times on the rail trail. So very sorry to hear of her sudden and unexpected passing. What a beautiful obituary for a very talented friend.
Dear Andrew,
Robin and I express our sincere condolences to you and your family.
Dorothy was, as her obituary describes, a wonderful talented person.
She always had funny stories and carried doggie treats in her pocket.
She will be sadly missed by us ‘trail walkers’ and neighbours.
Dear Andrew

I am thinking of you and your family and am saddened by your enormous loss. May your many memories bring you comfort and peace during the days ahead..
Dear Andrew,
I am writing late as I have been away without internet. My daughter Elisabeth and I are so very shocked at Dara’s so sudden disappearance. We send our deepest sympathy to you and your dear family. Dorothy was such a light in everyone’s life, so joyful and optimistic with such a bright smile and full of lovely family stories. What sadness to lose her so early and how difficult it is for you all.
We wish you strength and courage to help you at this terrible time. Of course the wonderful memories you have will help you but it is still so indescribably difficult for you. As you may know, in the Orthodox tradition we say: May Dorothy’s Memory be Eternal. May she find peace and continue nurturing you with her love.
Thank you for your wonderful, so sensitive and loving words about Dara. xxx Lisa and Lisinka (Elisabeth) Canisius
