1947-2024

We are saddened to announce that Tina Dennis, 76, of Hamilton Ontario, died October 5th,
peacefully in her sleep.

She was born in Shanghai, China in 1947 to Hans Rudolf and Margaret Gasten, and shortly
moved to Hong Kong where she grew up. Tina attended King George V High School and made
many lifelong friends who now live across the globe.

She married Neil Dennis in 1968 and moved to Southend-on-Sea, England in 1971 and then on
to Montreal in 1974, where her indomitable spirit and tenacity led her to be an integral part of
the youth soccer community and other volunteer organizations. In 2002, Tina and Neil retired to
Perth, Ontario to a place that they both termed “heaven on earth”. Tina was happiest in life
soaking up the sun with a glass of white wine in hand and her dogs by her side, watching Neil
fuss over the garden. In 2016 they relocated to Hamilton to be closer to family.

Tina was preceded in death by husband Neil Dennis, siblings Richard, Diana and Steve, and is
survived by her sons Mark (Denise Morris) and Keith (Jillian McJannet) and her 4 beloved
grand-daughters: Shea Morris-Dennis, Ciara Morris-Dennis, Fiona Dennis and Gwen Dennis.
In the difficult years after Neil’s passing it was her granddaughters that gave her strength and
spirit and whom she would go on and on about to anyone who would listen.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hamilton-Burlington SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
