It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maureen Farmer on July 4, 2024. She leaves behind her loving children (Tracy and Matthew) and her husband (Ian).
Born in Somerset, England Maureen emigrated to Canada in 1964. She married her childhood sweetheart the following year. She was a lover of animals (especially her cats) and a committed vegetarian. She was a devoted friend who loved a good laugh. Maureen was an avid reader and Jeopardy fan and passed her love of books onto her children. She will be remembered with love and fondness by her family and friends.
The family invites her friends to celebrate her life at the home of Ian Farmer on Sunday, July 7th from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. For details and directions, please send an email to maureenfarmer2024@gmail.com.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA or an animal welfare charity of your choice.
Special thanks to the staff at the Wentworth Lodge’s Maple Lane for their kindness and support.
You’ll always be in our hearts.
We are saddened on Maureen!’s passing. She had a great laugh and I recall the years I worked with her she really enjoyed a good laugh , even at her own expense . We had many of them over the years . Even after she retired for years it was time to go out for a good laugh over lunch or just a coffee .She was a good soul,
loved her family and a loyal friend . I will miss her greatly.

I will miss my dear friend Maureen. We were great friends for 54 wonderful years. Maureen came to my home to take guitar lessons and it wasn’t long before our friendship blossomed. Maureen was my best friend. I will always miss her. She was loyal, intuitive and curious. We could spend hours discussing numerous subjects. I will most miss her company, her dear friendship and her generous spirit. There were few people who could compare to Maureen, she was a rare treasure and her passing leaves an empty place in my heart.
Love you always, my dear friend, Sharon
