I met Gerry when I was 15 and started coaching girls softball. She was Blue Angels, I was eventually Sunkist and she taught me about patience, kindness and fairness. Years later I played darts against Gerry. Being a newbie, she again was helpful and kind. Impossible not to love her. Rest easy dear friend.

An extremely lovely lady.A huge loss not only for the Legion but also for our small town Dundas.
Thoughts and prayers are going out to Kirk, Jackie, Janie and their families. Gerrymandering was a wonderful lady and true friend. Good times and bad we could always count on Gerry to be there for you and yours. Been thru so many things and events together for over forty years that I am sure I’ll be hearing her voice in my ear laughingly telling me to just what double to shoot or comforting words of wisdom I need at the time. Missing you will be a very large whole in my heart.
I am so very sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. Thoughts and prayers go to the family for help and support at this time.
How we will miss dear Gerry. Always a big, happy smile, and in the old days, a cigarette, too, as we came in the back door at St Paul’s, or way back when her office was upstairs beside the ministers’ study, but wherever she was, she shone with light and love. Her extensive visiting in town means she’ll be missed by all of those folks, too.
Gerry could kibitz, tell wonderful stories about Ruggles Constant and Jack Spencely and the other old names at the church and her laugh would fill a room with love.
Gerry’s hugs were an experience, not just a little tap-tap on the back, she hugged and meant it. She could make someone feel like they were the only person in the world at that moment for her full attention.
My acerbic grandmother would call to complain (why else would one call the church?) and if Gerry couldn’t calm her down, there was no hope at all.
Sending love and condolences to Kirk and the family. She was always so proud of all of you, and would flip out photos or latterly on the phone and show them around of you on a team or a school photo, or one she took the other day.
Her ministry and work at St. Paul’s taught so many of us valuable and life-long lessons in patience, when to blow your stack and when not to, how to deal with a person in a snit, how to rejoice with good news, and how to quietly, lovingly console when the news was bad.
She was simply the best of the best, and we all loved her.
Our thoughts are with you all at this sad & difficult time.Gerry sure was one of a kind Lovely Lady. She will be remembered.🙏💕
Gerry, the laughs and fun we had are too numerous to mention. Your friendship meant the world to me and I will miss our talks. From darts, cribbage and even some golf, we managed to laugh through it all (well, most of it anyway haha). I miss our annual cottage trips where we got to know each other on a whole new level and I will be forever grateful for that. You were also a wonderful sounding board because I knew you would be 100% honest with me which was amazing. Our movie and dinner nights were always great and the only thing I wish was that we had done it more. I can’t even say enough as you can tell. Enjoy a cold one with Paulie and we’ll see you both again some day. Love you lots and already miss you immensely! Terrie, Ray, Rachel and Adria. xoxoxo
Whenever I walked past Gerry’s home, I would look to the front porch to find her warm-hearted smile as she sat and watched my son race uphill at incredible speeds, with me trudging along behind. We’d both grin, shaking our heads in shared incredulity that anyone could move so fast. That front porch chair looks so empty now.
Dear Gerry u will always remembered as a loving wife , Mom , grandmom & a great grandmom as well as a dear friend .R I P your pain is gone , our hearts ache but will see each other one day . HUGS Love you.
Our sincere condolences to your family. Thoughts are with you.
Please accept our sincere condolences at this time of loss and sorrow. May your memories comfort you.
Sincerely,
Gail & Maurice Rozon
We met Kirk and Gerry about 15 years ago while they were vacationing beside us here on Crystal Lake. Such great times spent together making so many funny and great memories. I do think that the lake was a happy place that Gerry looked forward to each year. It never took her long to be in the lake swimming shortly after arrival. Sitting with Gerry in the late afternoons with her telling us stories and her harty laugher, we will always remember those precious times together.
Diane and l are so sorry for your loss Kirk, Jackie, Jane and family. Our thoughts are with you through this difficult time.
Dear Gerry You will be dearly missed. So sorry for your families loss.
Danielle, Jacob, Tommy and joey..
Gerry was an amazing friend who we never heard speak a harsh word to anyone, she was sympathetic, honest and would always give you a 1oo% when she spoke with you, Rob remembers many many fun memories with Gerry and the ladies. My mom cherished her friendship with Gerry. Kirk, the apple does not fall far from the tree with your 2 amazing daughters. Gerry’s light may have gone out , however there is a new beautiful shining star in the sky to look upon.
I will truly miss the frequents little visits that I enjoyed on my daily route as your postie. I always looked forward to seeing Gerrys’ happy smile and cheerful words. She was one of “my people” and that empty chair breaks my heart. Keeping you, Mr. Hopkins and your family, in my heart and prayers. Evelyn
