Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness on Thursday, October 7, 2021, in her 75th year. Devoted mother to James Leroux and Matthew (Emily) Innes-Leroux and loving grandmother to Bruce. Survived by her sisters; Moneen and Nancy, Val was the ‘fun aunt’ to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Bob (2017). Val’s true calling was working in childcare and she touched the lives of many families. A private ceremony was held at the Turner Family Funeral Home with burial at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Phoebe Rose Rocks Foundation or Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated by the family.
James….I know how much you loved your mom, and everything you have done for her. My thought are with you.
Aunt Valen was definitely fun and she allowed me to tell her endless jokes as a kid. She was also more than just the fun aunt to me. She was an aunt who listened, who genuinely cared what you said, and had a way of making kids (and adults) feel good about themselves. A prouder mother would be hard to find. She was a lovely, sweet and sincere lady who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolences to James, Matthew & Emily and Bruce.
