Dundas has lost one of its greats. Warrior falls short of describing Rick, #57, who quietly and peacefully left us on the first full day of spring. He will be forever missed by his wife and rock, Diane, his favourite daughter Rachel, or “Fud” as he called her, and her partner Ryan. Exceptional brother to Gord, Terry, Gary (Wendy), Lance & Wendy. “Uncle Ricky” will always be one of the favourites to his many nieces and nephews. The Langen family will continue to hold a special place for their son and brother in law in all their hearts. Rick will always miss supporting his patrons as a proud owner of the Back Shop & Home Health. From his days on Sleepy Hollow, to the extended family he formed atop the hill, he was a treasured friend to many. Rick always had his own unique brand of zest for life. Time spent at the golf course, playing hockey at the Rockton arena or weekends at the family cottage were always days well spent. A special thank-you to all the nurses and doctors who were part of Rick’s long and hard fought battle, particularly the palliative team at Joseph Brant Hospital and Dr. Ian Hodson for giving him the gift of time. Friends and Family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 2-4p.m. & 6-9p.m.. Everyone must RSVP as space is limited. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 26, at 11:00a.m.. Memorial donations can be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation or the Hamilton-Halton MS Chapter.

Rick-We have been blessed beyond measure having you and your family as part of our lives. #57, you have been an amazing friend and honorary brother to my Dad. Being surrounded by all of his girls, my Dad never complained, but having you as a brother to share life adventures has been a special gift. We are so thankful for the many wonderful memories that you have shared playing hockey and golf with my Dad. Thank you for your courage and fortitude to overcome so many obstacles and to always live life to the fullest. You have loved and been loved so faithfully by Diane and Rachel. We couldn’t of asked for a better neighbor
Always there to lend a hand of anything asked of him. We will miss you tremendously and you will always be in our thoughts. His family was very close and they should be proud of a great husband and father.
We will make sure your flag will always be flying high and your Toronto Maple Leafs will always remind us of you.

Dear Diane and Family,
Rod and I were so sad to learn that Rick had passed away.
He had such a kind heart, was a fun neighbour and a great inspiration to me when I was battling Leukemia in 2001. I know his sharing of his time with treatment was hard for him, he did inspire me immensely.
We know you will have a lot of great memories and stories to fall back on and would like you to know that you are in our thoughts and hearts during this sad time.
Leslie and Rod MacArthur
