April 7, 1939 – January 14, 2021. Beloved by all who knew her, it is with saddened hearts that her family announces her passing at the age of 81. Barbara Mary Bishop who was known as a wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and aunt; who passed on to be with the many family and friends that have moved on before her on, Thursday, January 14, 2021. Barbara will be lovingly missed and remembered by her surviving spouse Charlie Binkley of 20 years. She will be sadly missed by all of her children Jack, Norma Sweetheart (Wendell), and Jamie (Stephanie). She will be remembered by her surviving siblings Ronald, Kenny, Audrey of Saint John, New Brunswick, also by Colleen (Garrett) children of her spouse Charlie. She will be missed and remembered by her 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Barb was a loving, charming soul. Barb’s passion was her family. She would do anything for them, without hesitation. Her humour and kindness is what people loved most about her, making you feel like family no matter who you were. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends and in her most recent time she liked spending time with her great-granddaughter Mia and taking her to the park. At home she enjoyed spending time walking the trails of her blueberry fields and watching the birds come to eat seeds on her porch and watching the deer in the fields. Barb (Grandma) will be forever remembered in our hearts.
“Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.”
RIP Mom,we will miss you so very much.we love you
RIP dear Barb, you were an extremely sweet and special person who shined so bright. You will be forever missed. May the heavens above shower you with peace and harmony and eternal love. Love the Guadarrama-Atempa family.
You will be missed “Barbie” – I remember you and Uncle Charlie coming to visit , when my girls were newborns.
Barbie always took a special interest in the girls, making a fuss over them whenever she saw them and always asked about updates when she saw me.
We also have a fond memory of being in the kitchen with Barb when she was making a 5 cup salad, she was measuring each ingredient , and explained that you didn’t have to use a measuring cup… you could just estimate, by using a big handful… and she grabbed her chest/breast and said – ONE Cup! we still use that as a measurement for One Cup.
RIP- love Bug, Emmy & Becca xo
