It is with great sadness, Maret Sirotkin passed away on May 16, 2020 in her 89th year after a lengthy illness. She leaves behind a son and a daughter, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her wit and stubborness as well as her generosity will be certainly missed! The family greatly appreciated the staff at Dundas Retirement Place as well as all of the loving PSWs that helped her daily! As per our mother’s request, there will be only a private family service.

We lost the matriarch of the Sirotkin family. Grandma will be missed, she was one of a kind.
Godspeed
Maret, better known as grandma to me……..
Growing up with your grandmother under the same roof was different but to myself a privilege that I wouldn’t of changed for anything. Always someone I could count on for rides to/from school, sporting events and the odd party (no matter the time). Her door was always my 1st choice when getting home as I knew it would always put a smile on her face. She was probably the blue jays biggest fan and always my favourite to watch a game on tv with, as long as we didn’t catch the players spitting on live tv. She was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I owe a lot to her for raising a great son and an even better father. I will forever be her little brat and she will forever be my grandma.
Miss you and love you,
Riley & Jenna
Grandma was always there for anyone who walked into her life and in through her door. Good stories, great food, and opinionated advice we’re always a guarantee from Maret.
She is loved and will be missed by her grandchildren and great Grandchildren, both of which she always spoiled.

As a little girl I always loved spending part of the summer with my Grandma. We spent countless hours watching baseball, cooking and chatting. I will cherish those memories forever. Although I wasn’t able to spend as much time as I wanted due to distance I always enjoyed our time together.
I miss you and love you!
Love, Erika
“Grandma” was sure to have a warm hug and could always be counted on for a nice chat every time I visited.
A very kind, generous and sometimes mischievous woman, which I loved.
I will hold these memories close to my heart.
She will be forever missed!
Rest peacefully.
Grandma, I have so many wonderful memories with you- going to bingo together, watching baseball, going on drives, feeding the ducks together (where I got attacked and still have a fear of geese from haha 🙂 helping you knit, and cooking together. I will treasure those memories & hold the blankets tight that you made for my boys.
I love you Grandma, XO Lisa, Joe, Greyson & Cole

Just read on your mother’s passing. My sincere sympathy.
Maret was a beautiful kind person. Very thoughtful, and fun to be with… spent a number of summers with her at the cottage. God rest her soul.
