Cook, Carol – 77 of Dundas, ON, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019. She was born in Paris, ON on August 12, 1942 and moved to the Hamilton area as an adult to continue her nursing career. Lifelong partner of Gary; loving mother of Jim (Carol), Cameron (Linda) and Deb (Jason); cherished grandmother to Ben, Spencer, Damien, Gabriel, Emma and Abby. Survived by her mother Annie and sisters Susan, Ann Marie and Lorie and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her brother Paul, sister Diana and father Herb. She had a passion for knitting that was only exceeded by her desire to help people. She had a big heart and freely gave of herself to anyone needing love, care and support. She was a long time member of Binkley United Church participating over time as a worshipper, in the choir, the kitchen and in many social groups. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Ronald McDonald House, Wentworth Lodge and even knitted and donated hats and booties for babies to area hospitals for several years. She was recognized for her service with the Heart of the Community Volunteer Award in 2015. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many people she touched through her life. Friends will be received by the family on Monday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of Carol’s Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated by the family.
Sending our deepest sympathy to all of Carol’s family during this difficult time. Although I personally did not have opportunity to know her well, each time I was in her presence, she was nothing but welcoming and very kind. Please know how much we care, and that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

On behalf of everyone at Ronald McDonald House, we are so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. While volunteering with us, Carol always went out of her way to take great care of all of our families and guests. She welcomed everyone with a bright smile and friendly greeting, making everyone feel at home. Carol was an amazing champion for our organization.
