July 10, 1941 – August 30, 2019
Mead, Richard Harold, “Rick”, 78, of Dundas, Ontario passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019 with family by his side leaving behind memories that will last a lifetime, not just for family but for the friends and neighbours he was close to. Rick was born on July 10, 1941 in Hamilton, Ontario to Harold and Loda (nee Touchette) Mead. He was a proud member of the Dofasco Quarter Century Club. After retiring, he found tinkering in the basement and garage weren’t enough, so he joined the employment ranks yet again and spent the balance of his working life at Canadian Tire in Dundas. Besides work, his greatest accomplishment in life was his children Christopher (Judy), Michael (Michele), Brian (Shelley) and Paula and his grandchildren Caitlin, Kellie, Ashley, Johnathon, Lucas, Matthew and Andrew. Saturdays will never be the same for his brother and best friend Jim (Lynda). Rick was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers John “Jake” and Bruce. The family would like to thank his entire medical team, especially the Seventh Floor Hemodialysis Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas on Friday September 6, 2019 from 12-2 p.m. Donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation – Nephrology Department.
Heartfelt condolences to the family. Having known Rick for most of my childhood, this news hits close to home.
