November 20, 1929 – February 11, 2017

Richardson, George Abott – Passed away peacefully in his 88th year on February 11, 2017. He is survived by Marie, his best friend and beloved wife of many years, and will be missed by his nieces and nephews, especially Tom Richardson. George was born on November 20, 1929, in Ancaster. He worked for Howell Lithographing in Burlington for many years. George and Marie were a well-travelled couple who thoroughly enjoyed one another’s company. Marie shared George’s love of flying, and in their spare time, they would fly around the Hamilton area in George’s Tiger Moth. They also loved animals, and over the years opened their home to a succession of dogs and birds. George was an avid golfer and member of the Dundas Golf Club. He also prized his cars, which he lovingly buffed to a high sheen every week. He will be remembered fondly by friends and neighbours. At George’s request, there will be no funeral service. The interment, which has been arranged by the Turner Family Funeral Home, will take place on Thursday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in Woodland Cemetery. All are welcome.  Donations in George’s memory may be made to the Hamilton Burlington SPCA ( by mail to HB SPCA, 245 Dartnall Road, Hamilton L8W 3V9, or on-line at www.hbspca.com) or to a charity of your choice.
