July 31, 1920 – February 16, 2017
Scott, Ruth (nee Trivett) – With great sadness we announce the passing of Ruth Scott on February 16, 2017, in her 97th year, of natural causes. She was a proud resident of 19 Gailmont Dr. Hamilton. It has been said that if you were to look in the dictionary under Mother you would find Ruth Scott. She was that and much more. She was matriarch of the Trivett clan, a great cook, baker, gardener, caretaker and friend. Predeceased by the love of her life Stan and much a loner Ruth was all about family. She loved her dogs. Ruth survived the depression and her thriftiness and money savvy allowed her generosity and a good life. Self-taught she loved to read. Ruth was always the last one at the table and put other’s needs before her own. Ruth leaves behind sons Bill (Maureen) and Bob (Wendy). Nana to Sarah (Joey), Rob (Ashley), Alexandrea (Mike), Andrew and Anthony. Great Nana to Tristan and Wyatt. Sisters Miriam, Kay, Ruby and June. Brothers George (predeceased), Cedric, Reg and Ron, as well as her special friend Joyce. Thanks to her close friends Bev and Wayne Heacock and Valerie Mills for their love and support. A special thanks to all at Wentworth Lodge for making her final years comfortable. Life is a little better today for all of us who were touched by Ruth. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Saturday February 25, 2017 from 1 – 3 P.M.. Donations in memory of Ruth can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CNIB.
