On November 3rd, after a lengthy illness, stoically accepted. Mary was loved by her many friends and relatives. A career woman for Bell her entire working life, Mary also devoted herself to her church. Long-time member at St. James Dundas and of St. Paul’s Westdale, Mary was active in both parishes, especially chairing the new organ committee at St. Paul’s and contributing greatly to the organ and grand piano at St. James. Mary was a wonderful asset to the churches where she served as a member of the Altar Guild, and as a Warden, as well as helping in the ministries of both parishes in many capacities. Mary was an artist who loved to paint and to sew. But she will always be remembered for her love of listening to and playing classical music and hymns. Predeceased by her parents Wm. and Estelle Newitt, and brother James. Many thanks to friends and family, to Dr. Colin Stevenson, to friends at St. Joseph’s Estates and to AMICA for her final care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Eucharist Service to be held at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. If desired, memorial donations would be appreciated to St. James Anglican Church.
