An awesome 100 years! Ivy passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, on March 25, 2016. Born in Dundas, May 23, 1915. Beloved wife of the late Harry Buttrum. Dearly loved mom of Jim (Cyndy), Judy Willson Trotman (Craig) and Elaine deRuiter (Robert). Loved Grandma of Luke, John (deceased), Neil (Cindy), Christie (Evan), Gary (Kierin), Sarah (Jay), Shelley (Christian). Dear Great-Grandma of Caelan, Kase, Isabelle, Asher and Oliver. Loved Aunt to many; especially to Sandra Hicks and Pat Speakman. Ivy was predeceased by 3 brothers and her dear sister Evelyn (Auntie) Beauregard. Harry and Ivy were market gardeners in West Hamilton. Ivy sold their fresh homegrown vegetables at the Hamilton Market for 37 years. Starting in 1966, along with the market, Ivy started selling and escorting bus tours all over North America and Mexico for C.H. Norton bus lines of Burlington. (Gladys Norton was her best friend on the market.) At the age of 65 in 1980, Ivy opened a full service travel agency, Ivy Buttrum Travel on Emerson St. in West Hamilton. Along with her daughters, Elaine and Judy, she worked until her early nineties. She loved people, animals, travelling and garage sales! Her kids were her everything and in return we loved her dearly. Special thanks for the kind and loving care at St. Joseph’s Villa. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery, Dundas, on Friday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at St. Paul’s Church, 29 Park St. W., Dundas.
