November 4, 1934 – October 27, 2015
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of John Stewart Patterson on Tuesday October 27th. John was born November 4th, 1934 to Ella Rose Longmoore and Henry Patterson in Inverness, Quebec. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years Barbara Anne Walker and his children Anne Patterson (Jason), Laura (Mike) Thomas, David (Carla) Patterson and Sharon (Aaron) Little. Grandchildren Isaac and Jesse Whynott, Tyler and Ryann Patterson and Ethan and Owen Little will miss their quirky and funny grandfather. John is now reunited with his daughter Marcia Rose Patterson, brothers Ralph and Hollis and his sisters Jean Wright and Edna (George) Marshall and survived by his long-time friend and brother-in-law Ken Wright. He will be deeply missed as well by Bill and Joyce Moore and so many friends and relatives around the area. People who met John always grew so fond of him; he was a very simple guy that just loved to make people laugh. He never wanted a lot in life, just his home and his family and every once and a while….a new car. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and PSWs (Riza and Barb) who have helped John maintain his health over the past few years….that best portion of a good man’s life, His little, nameless, unremembered, acts Of kindness and of love. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m at the Turner Family Funeral Home, (formerly Cattel & Eaton Funeral Home), 53 Main Street, Dundas where the Celebration of John’s life will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Grove Cemetery.
Our deepest condolences to you Barb and your family. John was such a wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
From Vera Walker and Family.
