Sadly we announce the passing of a beloved husband, loving father and very proud Grandpa. Husband and best friend for 42 years of Annette (O’Donnell). Loving father of Andrea Thibault (Christian) and Sean (Monique Gilby). Adoring and devoted Grandpa of Henry, Hannah and Duke. Brian is survived by his mother, Amelia Sabourin. Predeceased by his father, Hubert. Cherished brother of Bert (Rhonda), Carol Conroy (Wayne), Rick (Chris) and Judy Heacock (Michael). Dear brother-in-law of Maureen O’Donnell (Al Lenis), Kathleen, Kevin, Terry, Brian and Eamon (Elaine) O’Donnell. Uncle Brian, ‘Sabi’, will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and their children. Brian retired from Ford Oakville after 30 years. Following that, he enjoyed marshalling at Copetown Woods Golf Course, golfing with the Dundas Valley Retirees Golf Association in Cambridge, curling at the Dundas Granite Club and learning to dance with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. A heartfelt thank you to the JCC staff especially Dr. Dhesy-Thind, the nurses on the Chemo Unit and all the wonderful support staff who Brian considered part of his family over the past 7 years. A special thank you to Dr. Beverly Hattersley, the nurses and staff at St. Peter’s Hospital, and to Dr. Angelo Zizzo for his ongoing support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre in memory of Brian would be appreciated. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S PARISH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Thursday at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery in Dundas, following cremation at a later date.

Good Morning:
I was deeply saddened to see Brian’s obit in the paper this morning. I have not been in contact with Brian for some 38 years now. But I have fond memories of him.
Brian coached me in hockey at Rosedale for 2 years, we were the “Habs” . This was about 74/75.
He was fair, likeable, no yelling or such as other coaches did. He left a very positive impression on me, I thought he was a really fine man. I coached hockey for 10 years myself in Stoney Creek as I raised my children, both boys hockey, then 2 years of girls hockey. And I modelled my coaching on the way Brian coached us. Keep it fun, teach all you can without pushing too hard, teach the values of team work, working hard, and enjoying the game.
He holds a very special spot in my heart and my memories of childhood and sports.
God bless his family, may you make it through this very difficult time knowing you were blessed by having such a fine man in your lives every day for many years. He was a special individual.

Such sad news. , I have not seen Brian since our high school days, but have only fond memories of his friendship back then. We had many long talks sitting in the cafeteria during our ‘spares’ , including his best efforts to teach me how to play Euchre (to no avail).
