Clarke,Lana,Lee .. My deepest condolence to your entire family. I will miss her at 6 west, she was a lovely lady and you all were amazing to her.
We were sad to hear of Jean’s passing. My Mom Barb Elliott and Jean were good friends when they lived in Brantford. Jean and Mom would share the “shell-out” duties at Halloween, have dinners together often and go to the euchre games at the church together. They were sounding boards for each other’s joys and woes. Sometimes I would take both ladies for country drives or out to tea. When my Mom passed away, I tried to stay in touch with Jean. We would go to Hortons or out for lunch in Dundas. One day I asked Jean where she would like to go for a drive. She wanted to visit Rustys grave site so following her directions we ended up at a well kept little cemetery. We talked for an hour….Jean reminiscing about her trips to Florida and talking all about her family. I bravely asked her if she was afraid of death and she responded ” Not at all dear. After living this long I’ve learned to deal with that eventuality”. So Bon voyage Jean! Another leg of your journey begins with Rusty and my Mom!
I just heard about your Mom’s passing. I have such fond memories of her time here at the Villa and the stories she would tell me. Her quick wit and quick smile were something I looked forward to. As well as the recipes she would share -especially making her tea biscuits!! It was such a priviledge to get to know the whole family. Lee and Lana, Clarke -who I always wanted to call “Grant” for some reason until you reminded with the “S.” Sue -I still have your rhubarb muffin recipe -mine didn’t turn out as well as yours though! You all gave her such loving care. I’m thinking of you all at this time with a tear and a smile. All the best, Janet
