Amsden, Elvera Beautrix (Farkas) – After a brave battle Mom passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in her 80th year. Dear wife of the late Roy (2008). Mother of four daughters; Diane Collingwood (Glenn), Pamela Lengel (Dennis Chesterman), Alison LaForme (Greg -deceased) and Judy Amsden (Kevin Clarke). Grandma of Erin Lengel-Faulks (Matthew), Lindsey Lengel (Sandy), Derek Collingwood (deceased), and Megan and Rachel Nelson. Grandma Grandma to Maple and Amsden Faulks and Emmett and Oliver Nelson. A woman of many talents, Elvera passed along her passions for reading, sewing, gardening and cooking to her children and grandchildren and has now gone to listen to the gypsy violins. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at a later date. Expressions of sympathy to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by the family.

McNamara, Bernadette – Passed away peacefully, after a period of declining health, at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas ON, on February 14, 2015. She was the loving wife of Neil McNamara for 62 years, and the dear mother of Paul (Rose), Kerry (Janis), and Daniel (Laura). Loving grandmother to Colleen, Kate, Lorena, Jaren and Joel, and great- grandmother to Ellie. Bernadette is predeceased by her parents Julia & Peter Tochor of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, and by sisters Margaret, Clara, Patricia, and Evelyn (husband Frank Green deceased); and by brothers Walter and Ronald. She is survived by her sister Ethel (husband Charlie Cox deceased), and by brothers Richard (wife Ronalda, deceased) and Jerome (Pauline). Bernadette left Esterhazy, SK when she was 17 and traveled to Ontario in search of employment. She had many relatives in Welland and Niagara Falls, and stayed with her sister Ethel and her family. Bernadette quickly found work as a waitress, and as a cashier at an A&P supermarket. This is where she met Neil McNamara, who also worked at the A&P. They were married in 1952. Bernadette was a devoted wife, and a loving mother. She loved taking care of their home in Ancaster and was a master of cooking and baking. Her sons have great memories of coming home from school to warm cookies. She also loved tending her garden and caring for her dogs. Bernadette was active in St. Ann’s parish as treasurer of the Catholic Women’s League and as a member of the choir. She was also a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Villa and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Bernadette and Neil were avid campers and toured Canada and the United States with their trailer. They also enjoyed exploring Europe, the Caribbean islands and Mexico. Throughout her life Bernadette enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. Bernadette and Neil were members of several card clubs in their retirement years and they also spent many years square dancing. Special thanks go to the staff of St. Joseph’s Villa for their continuing care of Bernadette. The Visitation will be held at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home at 53 Main Street, Dundas, ON, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Monday, February 23, 2015. The funeral Mass will take place at ST. ANN’S CHURCH in Ancaster on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 am, with reception to follow at St. Ann’s Church Hall. Burial will take place after the reception, at St. Augustine’s Cemetery, 65 East Street South (off South Street) in Dundas. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Villa.

Roberts, Francis Lennard – October 16, 1935 – February 11, 2015 – with great sadness we announce the passing of Francis Roberts at the Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by his loving sister Doris and best pal Debbie Lockwood. Frank is predeceased by his parents Francis and Mary Roberts, son William, brothers Harold, Richard and Morris Roberts, sisters Verna (Matthew) and Rita (Thorton), and partner Jean Marie Fougere. He is survived by his son Donald, sisters Doris (Puttman) and Margery Rainier. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, dear friends Dan and Debbie Lockwood, and his special canine buddy “Joey” Francis was a proud employee of Harvester (Case) International for 37 years. Frank enjoyed gardening, baseball, hockey and daily visits with his friends at Eastgate Square. Thank you for the outstanding care and support he received from the team at the Hamilton General Hospital. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon from 1 until the Service for Frank at 2 o’clock at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place.

Vlietman-Gaudette, Natasha – Natasha Vlietman-Gaudette has left foot prints on our hearts on February 10,2015. At Hamilton General Hospital. Natasha was born in Milton on May 2, 1997. She was attending Cathedral High School, in her final year. Natasha has now joined her cherished big brother Jacob Vlietman. Greatly missed and loved by her parents Kimberly Gaudette and Chris Jablecki. She leaves behind her loving little sister, Natalie Vlietman. She will be greatly missed by Great-grandma Rita Little, Proud Grand parents. Gigi Patricia Gaudette. Bernie and Karen Jablecki, and Donna Lebreton and Bill Daeuber, Aunts, Uncles and extended family and friends. Passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton at the age of 88. Loving husband of Donna (nee Hudie) for over 62 years. Beloved father of Ian (Shana) and Peggy (Michael), Grandfather to Robert (Kristen) and Christopher (Shawna). Also survived by his sister Elizabeth (Jack) of Lyons Brook, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harry A. and Laura B. and brother David and sister Esther also niece Janice Gammon and brother and sister in infancy. Frank was a lifelong electrical engineer at Westinghouse Canada, an avid curler and enjoyed an active social life including sailing. Friends will be received by the family, on Thursday, February 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will take place on Friday February 13, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club, 10 Woodley’s Lane, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at both the Hamilton General Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
