Jim was predeceased by his parents Clayton and Lillian (nee Davies) Harmer, his infant sons David and Andrew, and grandson Richard Folkerts.
Missing Jim are his wife Pat (nee Thompson) of 63 years; his children Kathy and John Flanagan, Patti and Mark Folkerts, Tim Harmer and Diane; and his sister Shirley Carson and her family. “Pop”/“Great-Pop” experienced tremendous joy and love in his relationships with his grandchildren Kelly and Adam Van Dinther, James Flanagan, Robert and Jennifer Downs, Matt and Erin Downs, Jessica and Black Boughen, Stephanie Folkerts, Elisabeth Harmer, Katie Harmer, Aiden Wang; and his great-grandchildren Lily, Maggie, Henk, Charlie, Deegan, and Everley. Also remembered by extended family members of the Moon and Thompson families.
Jim was an extremely devoted member of the Waterdown Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and a long-term member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Dundas. He spent his career in the life insurance business with Toronto Mutual, North American Life and Manulife and served his clients with compassion. In all aspects of his life, Jim served others quietly with great respect and love, exemplifying his strong Christian faith.
Jim and Pat had many golfing trips to Myrtle Beach over the years. At home, they played golf at Oak Gables in Ancaster. In both places they made many friends through their golfing.
The Harmer family lived at the corner of York Road and Old Guelph Road, known as Pleasant View, for over 160 years. Jim loved this land and nature, and spent much time outside enjoying both over his full 87 years. To Jim, his home and family were number one. The family spent much time together by Jim’s side, in this place, as he endured his final days in the battle with cancer.
The family is forever grateful for the many, many people who have provided support over the past four months. All are cherished in our hearts. In particular we give special thanks to Margaret, Penny, Mui, Carri and Sandy who each gave their unique and caring support during the final days.
Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Monday May 1st from 7-9pm. Masonic Service to follow. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 2nd at 11am at Knox Presbyterian Church, 23 Melville St. Dundas. Donations to Presbyterian World and Development would be appreciated.

With a deep sadness we announce the passing of Neil on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Tina for 49 years, loving father of Mark and Keith and father-in-law to Denise and Jillian. Dear brother of the late Cyril (Jean) and brother-in-law to Steve and Amanda. Pops will be greatly missed by his four granddaughters Shea, Fiona, Ciara and Gwen. Neil will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Neil enjoyed the simple things in life. He was happiest spending time with family, strolling down a trail with his beloved four legged friends or of course watching a Manchester United match. He had a quick, warm smile, gentle manner and a sense of humour about him that always made people feel welcome.

In her 80th year, after a life of abiding Christian faith, Audrey passed away peacefully in her bed at the Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre in Stoney Creek. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Alvin and Mrs. Harriett Woods (nee Brennen) of Dundas, Aud was born in Hamilton and spent most of her life in Dundas, Ontario and the surrounding area. She was a big sister to “Brudder” Ronald Reid Woods of Burlington, and deeply loved his children Lisa McAvoy (Derek) of Etobicoke and Pamela Corazza (Claudio) of North Bay. Aud was delighted by the birth of all her grand-nieces and -nephews but served the particularly special role of godmother to Noelle Florence Corazza.
Of great significance was her marriage to Wayne Cruickshanks of Burlington. Wayne was generous, patient and kind with Audrey, and took good care of her for many years. Through him she came to love his mother, “Mrs. C”, brother-in-law Ron, and late sister-in-law Aurore whom she lovingly called “the modern day saint”. Aud felt greatly blessed to have a gentle and entirely lovable mother-in-law, and a brother- and sister-in-law who were always exceedingly kind to her. Audrey spoke with great love and affection about nephews Wayne, Ronny, Jamie and Michael, and nieces Diane and Nadine. She was truly grateful that they were a part of her life.
Audrey invested much of her life advocating to prevent and end the grave abuse of fundamental human rights, promote animal welfare and prevent cruelty to animals. She fought for these ideals with pen and paper, her own voice, and financial contributions. She also used these strategies to fight for the world she envisioned, in which every child is able to realize their God-given potential.
Cousin Sandra Herbert (the late Bruce) loved Audrey dearly, and played a pivotal role in her life, particularly in childhood. Sandy’s sons Michael (Suzanne) and the late Jamie (Kelly) were extremely important to Aud, and she was very grateful for their role in her life.
Until the very end, Audrey’s best friend Marg and her husband John were blessings from God. The love and solace they brought her were gifts Aud greatly treasured.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Friends and family are invited to the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street., Dundas, on Saturday, April 29 for a one-hour visitation at 2 p.m. and a funeral to follow at 3 p.m. A reception will follow. Harper, Marjorie Lois (nee Hannah) – April 19, 1936 – April 18, 2017 – It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Lois, hours shy of her 81st birthday. She leaves behind her devoted husband of almost 59 years, Allan, and four loving children Ken (Brenda), Cheryl (Joe), Doug, and Janet (Darcy). Known as the coolest and hippest grandma ever, she leaves behind 7 grandchildren Nicole, Rachel, Michelle (Brian), Jessie, Ben, Matthew, and Jacob as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She was always their biggest fan and the most special wife, mom, and grandma anyone could ask for, She also leaves behind her loving sister, Dot & husband Scrub, and will always be remembered as “Aunt Loisi” by Sandy (Mike), Greg (Joanne) and their families. Lois will also be missed by her many cherished friends. Friends and family are invited to the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Friday April 21 from 6-9p.m.. The service will be held in the chapel on Saturday April 22 at 10a.m.. It is with deep emotion that we announce the unexpected passing of our ‘Gord, Gordon, Gordy, Onkel, Dad, Pops or Opa’. By which-ever name he was called he was respected and welcomed. Beloved husband of Elfriede for 66 years, loving father to Janet Breitmaier and Rein (Char) Breitmaier, and doting Opa to two generations Robyn (Luigi) Bruni and their children Keele, Tiziano and Idina, and Taryn Breitmaier and son Dexter. Predeceased by his parents Ernest Herman & Johanna Mina Breitmaier.
Gordon championed two careers, first as a wood-worker/cabinet maker with Globe Furniture of Waterloo and later as a foreman with Sunar Hauserman of Waterloo.
Gordon and Elfriede enjoyed early retirement in Fort Myers Florida and Point Clark Ontario, and recently have called Dundas Ontario home.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be observed at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St in Dundas on Friday, April 21, 2017 with visitation at 1pm, and a service at 2pm.

Main, Clarence William “Bill” – Passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, April 13, 2017, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wife Joanne (Jan.2017). Loving Dad to Terry, Kim and her husband Steve, cherished and loving Papa & great Papa to Helena, Cam and Sebastian, Lisa, Matt & Olivia. Bill is survived by his siblings Marie, Wray, Leone (Paul), Jon (Lynn) and Kathy. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Annie and his brothers Glenn and Grant. Bill was a Lifetime member of the RCL Br.#36, Dundas, he proudly served with the RCA during WWII and the Korean conflict. Bill was also a longtime member of the Good Times Hunting & Fishing Club, and was a member of the Dundas Seniors Club where he made many good friends & memories over the years. As per Bill’s wishes, there will be a private Family Service at a later date. Heartfelt thank you to the staff at the HGH and a special thank you to nurse Monica for their care and compassion during this time. Expressions of sympathy to the RCL Br.#36 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Sardella, Keith Victor James – Peacefully at Emmanuel House on Monday, April, 10, 2017, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley in December and sadly missed by his son Michael (Patricia) and daughter Laura (Merlyn MacPhee); grandchildren Brandy Young, Grant MacPhee (Amanda) and Andrew Sardella and great grandchildren Aliexia and Aubrey. Survived by many nieces and nephews, his brother Malcolm and predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Keith was a long-time employee of Steetley Quarry, was a member of the Steelworkers Union and a faithful patron of Flamborough Downs. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Turner family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Vigil Prayers Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Loving mother of Don Weaver (Ruth), Denise (Ross) Anderson, and Deborah Swan. Cherished grandmother of Don, Sarah, Lisa, and Megan. Caring great-grandmother of Hailey and Lily. A private service will take place at 11:00am Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas. McNamara, Michael Alphonse – Died April 6th, 2017 peacefully at the age of 90 with his family by his side. He was a longtime resident of Hamilton, Ontario and enjoyed his retirement years in Dundas, Ontario at the St. Joseph’s Estate condominiums. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann of 62 years; children: Michael (Christina); Ann Marie (Alan Humphrey); Maureen Hubert (Glenn); Paul (Tammy); Colleen Sayer (Christopher), son-in-law John Pataracchia (Diana), grandchildren Rachel, Angela, Michael (Megan), John; Danny and Christopher (Ali); Benjamin; Alex and Caleb; Stephanie and Aaron; sisters Mary and Helen; his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and Aunt Halvetta Kelly. Michael is predeceased by his parents John and Marie (Kelly), brother Jack, daughter Teresa and brother-in-law Michael Boyle. Michael worked as a property manager at the Hamilton Housing Authority and following retirement as court registrar for the Ontario Court of Justice. He was a devout Roman Catholic and passionately volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, as a Eucharistic Minister and an usher. Many thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital; Dr. Ayeni and staff at St. Joseph’s Villa; Dr. Singh and all at Turner medical. The family is grateful for the supportive care and devotion shown to Michael. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Mass will be held Monday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas. Cremation to follow. Donations to the St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation or Good Shepherd in Michael’s honour would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Michael’s enjoyment of the company of his family and many friends will always be remembered. His life was a blessing and our memories a treasure.

Brown, Arthur – A long-time Dundas resident, passed away March 29, 2017 in his 95th year with his family by his side. He is survived by sons Timothy (Karen) and Philip, younger brother Garnet and many nephews and nieces. Arthur was predeceased by his wife Helen, parents George and Anna, and nephews Peter and Mike. Born in Haileybury Ontario, Arthur was a survivor of the Great Fire of 1922. His mother stood in the cold waters of Lake Timiskaming holding baby Arthur as the town burned down. As a boy, his family moved to Kirkland Lake during the 1930’s gold boom, and in his later years he would share stories of the town’s gold mines and the colourful gold rush characters. In the 1940’s he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and proudly served during WWII. Following demobilization, he joined Ontario Hydro and during his lengthy service worked at many of the company’s sites across northern and southern Ontario. Upon retirement he was active for many years with the local chapter of the Hydro Pensioners Club. He served his community through the Dundas Baptist Church, Little League, and Valley Lodge. Arthur was a wonderful, sweet man; kind and humorous. A beloved father, his gentle guidance will be deeply missed by his sons. Visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00pm with a service following at 3:00pm. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Grove Cemetery next to his wife at a later date.
