January 22, 1924 – November 26, 2016

Levely, Clifford Herbert “Gump” – Passed away peacefully at the Brant Centre on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Predeceased by his wife Thelma (2000).  Loved and missed by his sons Peter (Robin) and Thomas (David) and daughters Geri (Dennis Lilliman) and Cher (Tom Baker); brother James; grandchildren Tim, Steve, Janine, Heather (Chris), Noel (Melissa), Dana (Nicki) and Janelle and great-grandchildren Taylor, Eric, Hailey, Vanessa, Hayden, Simon, Braylea, Ryland and one on the way.  Predeceased by brothers Albert, John, Ormand and Harold.  Clifford was a member of the RCL, Branch #60 in Burlington and a Retired Lieutenant of Burlington #2 Volunteer Fire Department.  Clifford resided both in Hamilton and Burlington and spent their winter months in Florida for the last 27 years.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Clifford’s Service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.  Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  If you so wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Caroline Place, Hamilton or Brant Centre, Burlington would be appreciated by the family.

Kindt, Christina “Tina” (nee Saccomano)

Kindt, Christina “Tina” (nee Saccomano) – It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, who passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She will be loved and missed always by her parents Alfred and Martina; her children Jordan (BreAnna), Tyler (Stacy), Ryan (Christina); her sister Laura (Larry Wigham); her brothers Robert (Debbie), Stephen (Antoinette) and Dave (Genny) and many nieces and nephews. One of the greatest joys in Tina’s life was spending time with family and friends. She was a loving caregiver to her parents, a devoted mother and kind sister. Tina had a passion for photography, capturing many special moments in the lives of family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their care. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-9pm at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held for Tina, at her request.  In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Grolla, Marlon Jacob

Grolla, Marlon Jacob – With heavy hearts we announce that Marlon passed suddenly at home at the age of 26. He is survived and deeply loved by his parents Mary Kay and Brian; brothers Samuel (Kitty) and Nigel; grandparents Aileen and Keith Coates; many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Predeceased by his grandparents Ron and Vi Grolla and Uncle Bob.  Marlon had exquisite taste in food, music, books, art and had a great sense of humour. He was quiet and thoughtful, but stood his ground, and was tremendously insightful.  He will be missed dearly.  Friends will be received by the family on Monday November, 28th from 3-5 p.m. at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Marlon`s Celebration of Life will follow Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.  Cremation to follow.  In kindness, donations to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Wilson, Helena Magdalena

September 1, 1926 – November 7, 2016

WILSON, Helena Magdalena (Pierik) – Peacefully, on Nov 7, 2016 in her 91st year, Helena passed away at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton.  Predeceased by her husband Gordon Wilson and her first husband Gerhardus Pierik.  Stepmother of Dave and Larry, mother of Annette, Michael and Frank.  Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their Oma.  Helena and Gerhardus were the proprietors of the Ancaster Home Bakery in the late 1960’s. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Macassa Lodge and Carrington Place for their excellent care over the years. A private family service has been held.  Donations to the Alzheimer Society in Helen’s name are welcome. 

 

Newitt, Mary Margaret

On November 3rd, after a lengthy illness, stoically accepted. Mary was loved by her many friends and relatives. A career woman for Bell her entire working life, Mary also devoted herself to her church. Long-time member at St. James Dundas and of St. Paul’s Westdale, Mary was active in both parishes, especially chairing the new organ committee at St. Paul’s and contributing greatly to the organ and grand piano at St. James. Mary was a wonderful asset to the churches where she served as a member of the Altar Guild, and as a Warden, as well as helping in the ministries of both parishes in many capacities. Mary was an artist who loved to paint and to sew. But she will always be remembered for her love of listening to and playing classical music and hymns. Predeceased by her parents Wm. and Estelle Newitt, and brother James. Many thanks to friends and family, to Dr. Colin Stevenson, to friends at St. Joseph’s Estates and to AMICA for her final care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Eucharist Service to be held at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. If desired, memorial donations would be appreciated to St. James Anglican Church. Inurnment of ashes at Grove Cemetery.

Lee, Archie Welford

July 11, 1934 – October 29, 2016

Lee, Archie Welford – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Beaton), and loving father to Stan (Cindy), Lynne Lambertus and Michael. Step-father to Virginia (Ron Haggith), Terry Moore, Bonny Roarke (Rick) and Tim Moore. Archie will be sadly missed by his 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren and his brother John (Maggie). Predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Erie.  Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Funeral for Archie will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Cremation to follow. Expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
