It is with great sorrow that we mark the passing of Alan Lawrence Macdonald. Alan passed away peacefully on May 16, at the age of 95. He was a loving husband to Patricia (dec) and father to Colin (dec), Doug (Ava Armstrong), Glenn (Donna Macdonald), and Scott (Marianne Yong-Macdonald). Alan was brother to Colin, Rod, Malcolm and is survived by his wonderful sister, Jean (Murray Cockburn).
He is Grandfather to Corinna, Benjamin, Adrienne, Heather, Margot, Mawgan, Malcolm, Kipp, Kiana and Naaman. And, he is Great Grandfather to Theodore, Emanuele, Isla, Harrison, Marlow, and Avalyn.
As one of our friends put it, “Al was a larger than life character.” He will be missed dearly. Special thanks to the caring staff at Idlewyld Manor.

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Long announces his passing, with his family at his side, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on May 14, 2023. Dearly loved husband of the late Bernice Long and remembered with abiding love by children Janice and Jamie.
Born in Dunnville, to the late John Pratten Long and Alberta Regina (Nie) Long, Jack enjoyed the love of five older brothers: Bill, Fred, Chuck, Tom, and Don, all of whom predeceased him. Jack will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews and their families, as well as dear friends. Jack also leaves behind his adored cat, Victoria.
Jack began his career as a classroom teacher at the age of 19 and remained a dedicated educator for 36 years, teaching and supporting students as well as those who taught them. Jack’s generosity and kindness will be warmly remembered by many. Thank you to the teams at Amica Dundas and St. Joseph’s Hospital for your kind care and support.
It is with great sadness that the family of Gilbert Stewart announce his passing on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the age of 67. As he wished, he passed away in the home that he built, surrounded by his loving family.
Gil will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Brenda; children Anne and Andrew (Jamie); grandchildren Markus, Ethan and Alyssa; sister Kim (David) Roussel, nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
Gil was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth; and his siblings, Barb (Danny) and Bob (Pat).
Gil loved spending time with Brenda and their family. He was a loving Grandpa (G-Pa) to his 3 grandchildren, whom he loved so much. Gil enjoyed spending time at the hockey arena, both playing hockey for 40 years and coaching for 25 years. He had a great love for fishing.
Thank-you to his family, friends and the many healthcare professionals for all of their support in helping Gil stay at home comfortably.
A private burial will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 1 pm- 4 pm at the Copetown Community Centre (1950 Governors Rd. Dundas, ON L9H 5E3). Spoken words and memories to be shared at 2 pm.

Passed away peacefully at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of the late Shelley Bodden (2010). Dedicated and loving father of his cherished Deanna and Melissa. Caring son to Edgar Bodden and his late wife Norma. Loved brother of Marilyn (Shaun) and Darlene (Henry) and sisters-in-law Julie and Kathleen. Predeceased by brothers Eddie (2022), Garry (Margaret) 2012 and Wayne (2019). Brother-in-law to Dale DeLottinville (Barb Eccles), Carol DeLottinville, Susie Castro (2021), Bob DeLottinville (2006), John (Karen) DeLottinville, Diane DeLottinville, April DeLottinville (2011). Rick will be missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan, especially a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Red Wings and Nascar and could often be found cruising in his mustang. A music enthusiast, he was always listening to his tunes. Rick was born, raised and worked in Dundas and will be remembered by many life-long friends. He had so many amazing qualities that will be missed, including his great sense of humour. Thank you to the staff and volunteers at Juravinski Hospital, Cancer Assistance Program, Bayshore Healthcare, and Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas on Monday, May 15th from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Grove Cemetery. Beloved mother of Susan, Barbara (Gregg) and Robert (Cheryl) and grandmother to Sandra (Jim), Shane (Kelly), Keith, Kristen (Jason), Renee (Scott), Rachel (Darren), Tyler (Sarah).
