August 13, 1930 – January 8, 2024
If you are reading this you will know that I was a compositor in the composing room at the Hamilton Spectator for 42 years., so I am the one composing this last story. I am predeceased in death by my father Frank and my mother Carolina, also my brother Val and sister Louise. I am also the brother of Helen & Elizabeth who will always be praying for me. To my children and their spouses, I say thank you, to all my grandchildren and great-grandchild, I will be looking out for you. To all my nieces and nephews, I will also be looking out for you all. To my gals at the restaurant, I thank you for taking care of a grumpy old man. For the guys and girls at the Casino, I thank you. I would like to thank Dr. Feng and her staff, for always taking care of me, I would also like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Juravinski, the Doctors and staff at Satellite, and also the Doctors and staff at the General. There will be no Funeral Service per my wishes. Please remember my stories and have a good laugh.
~Norm
Norm was a character. He was also a very kind and generous soul. My condolences to his family. I know he will be missed by many.
Mr. Bilotti was one of my dad’s best friends. They worked and golfed together for many, many years. I will always remember his humour, kindness and smile. He always had interesting stories to tell. My dad passed in 2020 and Norm came to say good bye. That was the last time I saw him and it meant a great deal to myself and my entire family. Reading his self-written obituary had me quite chocked up. Rest peacefully Norm, you will always be fondly remembered and be kept in my prayers. My most sincere condolences to all his family.
He did everything on his own terms! One of the best storytellers of all time. Xoxo
From the Hamel/McGrattan gang our condolences to the family. Our memories go way back when our father also worked with Norm in the composing room. Ironically years later our neighbours had someone in common – Norm was their father/ grandfather. Very sad to hear of his passing but I was say he had a great life.

My condolences to Norm’s family on his passing. I was one of those gals who took care of “the grumpy old man”, not so grumpy if you got it right! Always looked forward to seeing him, hearing his stories and he never failed to put a smile on my face! RIP Norm
