Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Juravinski Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Remembered and loved always by her husband Fred of 46 years; her sons David (Stacey) and Douglas, granddaughter Robyn, brother Jim, sisters Nancy and Louise and by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She was a dedicated Plant Biologist at McMaster University and an avid quilter. In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial attended by her family will be held.
Our deepest condolences Fred.
Thelma was a beautiful quilter. We will always remember her hand sewing and her newest passion reverse appliqué.
Thelma was a proud Grandmother and often told stories of your granddaughter, with her special picnics as well as home schooling during Covid.
Please extend our deepest sympathies to your sons.
I extend my condolences to all of Thelma’s family.
I enjoyed working with Thelma for many years, starting when I took over as instructor of the 2nd year plant biology class, Bio2D03 in 2009. Thelma helped me update and expand the labs in this course to include more hands-on experimental work, while keeping the labs where students explored plant diversity and beauty.
My deepest sympathies to Thelma’s family. Thelma was an important part of the Biology team for many years. She had a very positive impact on many many students.
My deepest condolences to Thelma’s family. Thelma and I worked together for many years. She and I also shared a common “love” for “Il Divo”… Whenever I hear them sing, I will especially smile and think of her.
