It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leonard Paul Teeuwen on July 21,2022 at the young age of 56 at his home in Kitchener, Ontario. Leonard was predeceased by his father, Paul, and his infant brother, also named Leonard. Leonard leaves behind his beloved sons Simon (age 21) (Hannah) and Jeremy (age 19), the joy of his heart; his mother Joyce Teeuwen (86 years); sister Phyllis Connelly (Jamie); and Mary Teeuwen, the mother of his children. He will be greatly missed by his Aunt Marg, Uncle George, Uncle Bruce and Bertha, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins (both in Canada and Holland). He was an awesome son, brother, husband, father and friend! Leonard was born in Burlington, Ontario on March 30, 1966. He attended Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton for most of his elementary and secondary education. Leonard received his Honour’s Business Degree from Trent University in 1989 and graduated with his CGA in 1995. Leonard has been a business entrepreneur for 25 years and in accounting for approximately 30 years. He founded 2 accounting firms: Teeuwen-Turner-Moore (now TurnerMoore) in Bobcaygeon and The Tax Advantage in Kitchener. In the accounting community, Leonard was well known and respected for his relentless hard work, high ethical standards, devotion and leadership. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the many clients he had gotten to know over the years. Leonard enjoyed some hobbies to relax. In his younger years he was an active member of The Burlington Teen Tour band (the only person that could blow, march and make music carrying a bass tuba); this allowed him to travel. He loved to spend time with his family and extended relatives- trips to Florida and Holland. For some peace and solitude he enjoyed time in his boat. A Celebration of Leonard’s life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022. Visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, Ontario from 10:00am-12:00pm with a graveside service a short hour’s drive at The New Dundee Union Cemetery at 3:00pm. (Please bring a lawn chair unless you wish to stand). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Autism Ontario in Leonard’s name. The family is very appreciative of the love, prayers and support they have received during this very difficult time.

Our deepest condolences to the Teeuween and Coleman families on the passing of Leonard. Remembering him with love and praying for comfort to all. With our Love, Aunt Marg & Uncle Greg
Deepest sympathy to Leonard’s entire family, from Gus and Hilda Baliko and family.
On behalf of TurnerMoore I would like to express our sincere condolences and offer our prayers for his family, close friends, and business associates in this time of sorrow.
Leonard was a great partner and business associate while with TurnerMoore. His professionalism and readiness to assist the firm when called upon has been missed since embarking on his new practice Tax Advantage.
Sincere condolences to Leonard’s family & loved ones. Deeply sorry to hear of his passing. I will always be grateful for the advice and help he gave me over many years.
I knew Leonard for over 20 years. Although he was first my boss and then my business partner, by working so closely together over the span of so many years, he was also my friend. I can say unequivocally that he was the most generous and the most patient person that I ever knew. Although he had many struggles in life, he never complained or stopped giving. The clients that I have told of his passing have all said “He was such a nice man” and I agree. When we worked together I would suggest changes to the business, some which he would resist and say “But then the client won’t come back”. But they always did which gave me an opportunity to say “See, you were wrong!”. Knowing Leonard, I imagine he thought his life didn’t make much of a difference, that maybe he wouldn’t be missed by many when he was gone. So now, one last time, I want to say: “Leonard, you were wrong”.
His dedication to those he loved and work ethic he displayed cannot be replaced. I will always miss the late evenings watching James Bond or Charlies Angels, and memories at family reunions. Thanks for the great memories Uncle Leonard
My condolences to Leonard’s family. I had the pleasure of teaching Leonard in the Middle School at Hillfield Strathallan College. He was such a good student and was respectful and kind to everyone. He was known as “ Chewy “ by his classmates. I have so many great memories of him at school. I am sorry for your loss.
My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. Thinking of you all. Please tell Jeremy I am thinking of him. Sending hugs.
I have such fond memories of Len. He was in many of my classes through our years at Hillfield. Often he was the quiet, contemplative student behind me who laughed along with all of us at the daily shenanigans but was smart enough to never be caught. He was kind, funny and a good friend to many. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences to his family; in particular his children.
So very sorry for the loss; he was a super nice guy. My condolences to his family.
We are so sorry for your loss, and send our deepest condolences.
I was so shocked to hear of Leonard’s passing. He was one of the nicest persons I have worked for, we always had meaningful conversations and he was very caring. My condolences to his family. I am very sorry for your loss.
Leonard was a colleague, mentor and friend to all us here at TurnerMoore Bobcaygeon. We will miss his guidance, his sense of humour and his generosity of spirit.
