1951- 2020
With our hearts breaking, we announce the tragic passing of our beloved son Warren on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Left to mourn his passing are his loving parents Rollo & Marilyn (nee Shewfelt) of Dundas and his sister Lori whom he loved unconditionally. He was her rock. Warren was predeceased by his partner Penny in 2016. He was a loving Papa to Melissa and her family, T.J. and Shannon and their family and Breanna and James and their son. Warren was born and raised in Copetown and he graduated from Dundas District High School and went to McMaster University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree. Warren worked for many years in the Peterborough area and at the time of his passing, was living in the town of Frankford. He was a lover of nature and was always happy to be walking his two little puppies on the many trails in the area. Warren was a great family man and looked forward to every big family get together. He was a special nephew to his Uncle Delbert Shewfelt (Marilyn) and his Uncle William “Bill” Shewfelt (Yvonne). Warren will also be missed by his Snyder aunts Ina McCurdy (Colin) and Rosemary Stinger of Florida. Warren was loved by his many cousins and was especially close to Kevin Shewfelt who will recall some of their adventures together. He had many friends, both at work and in his daily life. Too many to mention but they will miss him. Glen, his boss and good friend, will miss their chats and good times. Warren, you were loved from the day you were born and will be loved forever. Warren was the grandson of the late Delbert and Mary Ann Shewfelt and George and Mildred Snyder. A Funeral Service will take place Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, on Wednesday, November 4 at 1:00p.m.. DUE TO COVID-19, THE SERVICE WILL BE BY INVITATION ONLY. A graveside service will take place immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Warren would be greatly appreciated by the family. Warren was a good man that worked hard all of his life. Whenever he visited John and I he loved talking about his adventures with friends, his work with Glen and both of his families. We never heard him criticize others or express jealousy. In our talks it was obvious he loved both of his families, was very protective of his sister Lori and very proud of his parents
Marilyn and Rollo. As far as parents go he felt he had won the jackpot.
John and I will miss his visits to Ottawa.
We are
sorry for your loss Mr. and Mrs. Snyder and Lori.
I didn’t know Warren very long as we’ve only had a cottage in the area for about a year and a half. He did some furnace and wood stove work for us and I enjoyed our chats about the work and life in general. Although our conversations were few I can tell those close to him will miss him. I was looking forward to our next conversation. Condolences to his friends and family.
Marilyn and Rollo and the entire shewfelt family, snyder family,

I’ve known Warren all my life. We hitch-hiked on one trip throughout England, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Austria and France. We travelled to Florida and the Bahamas a number of times in out teens. Frequent ski trips to Vermont were always memorable. These are but a few of the locations we visited in our youth. He was an intrepidus traveller, a superior athlete, a strong mentor/coach, a great man and most importantly; a true life long friend. He will be sadly missed by many.

Rollo and Marilyn:
I just learned of Warren’s passing and can’t tell you how sorry I am and can only imagine the hurt you are feeling. I remember fondly playing on a line with Warren and Joe Donald and coached by Rolly and Bill.
Be strong

I am so sorry to hear of Warren’s passing. I was fortunate enough to have had Warren as my neighbour when I lived in Campbellford. Warren was one of the kindest warmest souls I ever had the pleasure of meeting. I got to work a few jobs with him and loved learning from him with his wealth of knowledge and humour. I miss going out for a pint or 2 and catching some live music at the tiny and i mean tiny bar they had in town. He always had a smile I miss him, the world would be so much better with more people like Warren around. We have all suffured a horrible loss of a great man. rest in piece my friend, say hi to Penny for me I miss her as well! Take care my friend till we meet again!
