Dear Thursa (with the s pronounced as a z),
Thank you for a wonderful friendship that has spanned almost 50 years. I will miss your presence but will continue to hear your laughter when something strikes me funny, hear your voice when when I sing and dance to the music we listened to when we were roommates in Guelph and, of course, heed your sage advice when I need to. Some person, not known to me, wrote: “There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little bit better”. That’s you. Yours is a life to be celebrated.
Love you forever,
Daphne Shaw Dyck
Goodnight Thursa. Even though we hadn’t spoken for a while I’ll always smile when I think of you and the pool parties you and Dave had. Especially the famous 10th annual!
And you weren’t only there to take care of my dog and cat fur babies, but there were baby rabbits and a possum to help. Not to mention a raccoon tail amputation!
Whenever I think of you, I can hear your laugh. From the heart, like you.
My heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. You were one of a kind.
