Rivers, Frank Edward Thomas
April 26, 1925 – December 21, 2018
Frank was predeceased by his beloved Ruth, wife of 67 years. Caring father to Douglas (Linda) and Ruthanne. Grandfather to Lynda (Chad), Cindy, Tara, Jennifer (Adrian), Leanne (Dennis) and Elaine (James). Great-grandfather to 15. Frank was a proud Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the RCNVR aboard H.M.C.S Joliette. He was a skilled carpenter by trade, and worked at Otis Elevator until his retirement in 1987. Dad was a long-time member of the Hamilton Stamp Club, The Steel Workers Organization of Active Retirees (S.O.A.R), a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 36 in Dundas, and up until two weeks before his passing he enjoyed swimming twice a week at Dalewood Pool, for over 33 years!. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his dedication and love for his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27th from 2-4 and 7-9, with Legion Service at 7:00, at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street Dundas where Frank’s Service will be held on Friday, December 28th at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held Sunday, January 13th at the Dundas Legion, 280 King Street West from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 36 would be appreciated.
Our thoughts are with you at this time Doug, Ruth Anne and families. He was a great man and a great friend. We had alot of laughs together. Your beloved mom will be happy to see him again.
