July 16, 1928 – June 12, 2015
Surrounded by the love of his life Joan (Grightmire) and his family, Wilfred passed from this life to heaven ever so gently and in peace. Father of Peter (Bernadette), Paul (Monica), Mary (John), and Julia (Don). Cherished Papa of Meagan, Andrew, James, Sean, Maddox, Devon, Michael (Melissa), Derek, Justina, Patrick and Stafford. Born in Hamilton (in 1928) and predeceased by parents Ruby and Wilfred Curtis Sr. and siblings George, Jack, Gordon & Marilyn. Wilfred was a man of great faith and creativity. His entrepreneurship took him in many different directions where his experiences resulted in many stories. Upon retirement, he turned to his love of writing completing several books by his pen name Wilfred Anthony. His other passion was wine making and many would attest that his wine was simply the best. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion shown to dad by Doctor Zou and the Dundas Family Medical Health Team, Doctor Allison Montgomery, Doctor Gerry Cox , Doctors and Nurses of the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Seniors for Seniors and the CCAC. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Dundas Museum or the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club for the planting of trees in the community. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 17th at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham St. Dundas, at 10 a.m. Refreshments to follow.

It was with sadness that we learned of Wilfred’s passing. Please know that our hearts are with you and those who loved Wilfred. You are in our prayers and thoughts as you go through one of life’s most difficult times,
Saying Goodbye… Keep the memories of your time with your father, father in-law , grandfather and husband close. Those memories will bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye when you least expect it. This too shall pass and life will get back to moving us through it with one less hand to hold. Stay strong.
Love Karen, Bruce, Brynn, Coleby Alex and Dylan
My condolences to the entire Curtis family.
I had the privilege of knowing him shortly after I moved to Dundas in July 1998. A wonderful , warm, courteous man
He will be missed
We want you to know we are thinking about you at this difficult time. Your many wonderful memories of your Dad/Grandfather will help you through and you will smile again. Love, The Masek family
My condolences to Peter and the whole Curtis family on your loss. Our prayers are with you and Wilfred.
Thanks for all the laughter and great times we shared had at the Town of Ancaster Office, Wilfred. I will not forget. Rest in peace.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr Curtis. However, knowing Peter and Bernadette, I have no doubt that he has already heard the words:
‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Its time to celebrate the joy of a Christian life well lived.
You’re in our prayers.
KC & Deb Flynn
We are sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathies to Peter and the whole family.
Sincerely,
The Board and Staff of the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada
I remember the house to be open and loving as a child. I remember Joan and Wilf (Mister and Misses Curtis to us children and still are called that by many) able to display a full range of emotions with non family around. I always felt welcome in their home. This lasted for 53 years and I still have these feelings to this day. I will remember this the most. God Bless Mister Curtis. God Bless his family. God Bless his friends, of which I am proud to count myself as one of them.
