September 1, 1965 – May 2, 2015
Hunter, Scott – It is with great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of our son and brother Scott Ethan Mathew Hunter on Saturday, May 2 at the age of 49. Scott is the beloved son of Mary (nee Windle) and devoted brother of Craig and Peter (Ruth). He is predeceased by his father Pete. He has many aunts and uncles and cousins both from England and Canada. He is the loving boyfriend of Amy and lifelong friend to Roger, Rob, Julian, Rob and Heather. He had a wide circle of friends and colleagues in Toronto where he lived for many years. Scott was born and raised in Hamilton and attended Cathedral High School. He was an avid traveller and sportsman participating in many marathons and triathlons. Friends will be received by the family on Friday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the Celebration of Scott’s Life at 4 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Centre or SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
He will always be in our thoughts and hearts. Till we meet again Scotty
My deepest sympathies to Scott’s family and girlfriend. I am in shock, sadly I did not get a chance to get to know Scott any better, who was a good friend to my late brother Guy. Guy who passed away on April 13, 2014. Scott was very kind along with his friend Roger to be the first who came with food platters to my mother’s home after hearing of Guy’s death. Rest in Peace Scott
My Dear Mary, Craig, Peter and Ruth. I am so sorry for tragic loss of Scott. Our memories can never be taken away and when I think of you and the boys I smile and have warm feelings which will help us travel through the loss of Scott. Mary Craig Peter and Ruth you are much loved and we are here to remind you that Scott was loved and will be missed by all of us who knew him.
Our Love
Debbie, Dave, Rebecca(Geoff), Jacklyn, Elliott(Sara)
Our hearts go out to your family, Scott, to Amy and, too, to your long time companions at the pub, friends every one. We do not pretend to have known you well, Scott, we did not run or travel with you, but for years our family knew the special comfort that your particular, sometimes gruff company offered. We knew it, Sarah and I – and the girls, Nathalie and Sophie, who came of age under your watchful eye – for what it was. It was the comportment of a lean bear who was all tenderness underneath. I have an abiding memory of you that I’ll never forget for exactly this reason, of you sitting for hours on a New Year’s Day at the House, keeping a drunk customer company, because leaving the harmless, likely slightly lonely man on his own, was not your style. You made time for him. You made time for us. You were generous. You had heart. Love to you, pal, wherever you are. We miss you.
Nathalie, Noah, Sarah and Sophie.
Our deepest sympathies to the family and all friends, close or away on travels of their own. There have been very few people that I have met in my own life and journey’s who made a more positive impression with their wit and company offered than Scotty. The neighbourhood and further afield will miss you more than you will ever know. You will be remembered well, much Love
Stephen & Stefanie
