Our hearts are filled with love as we honour a treasured life and announce the peaceful passing of our dear father on August 29, 2026 at Margaret’s Place Hospice.
Beloved husband of the late Alma Picone. Cherished and devoted father of John Jr. (Karen), Gail, and Greg (Heather) Picone. Proud grandfather of Christina, John-Michael (Lindsay), Vincent (Melisa), Patrick, Lorena, Leah (Daniel), Adriana and step-grandson Matthew. Cherished great-grandfather of Ronan, Ryder, Niall, Ava, Duke, Joseph and Vivienne. Loving son and son-in-law of the late Joseph and Josephine Picone and Anthony and Rose Morelli.
Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joseph and Elsie Picone (deceased), Leonard and Norma Picone (deceased), Rino and Bernice Santi (deceased), Raymond Morelli (deceased), Mary Morelli (deceased), Rita and Bruce (deceased) MacKinnon, Phyllis Morelli, Rosaline and John Dean. Adored and deeply loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
John was an active parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church, Dundas and a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Parish Prayer Network. He was an active volunteer in the community for over thirty years. Our deepest appreciation to Msgr. Edward Sheridan and Father Scott Whitfield for their prayerful support and spiritual comfort.
Our family is especially and will be forever grateful to Dr. Jim Williams and Dr. Anne Boyle for the generous, compassionate and loving care given to our dear father. To the staff and volunteers at Margaret’s Place Hospice we extend our deepest gratitude for the tender love, comfort and dignified care you gave to our dear father, and the compassion shown to our family.
Family and friends will be received at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Friday, September 4, 2026, 2-4pm and 6-8pm.Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, on Saturday, September 5th at 10am. Interment at St. Augustine’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Margaret’s Place Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
