    I have just returned from a winter vacation and saddened to read of Jim’s death. I worked with Jim for many years at Valley City. Jim had a way of brightening the sometimes tense and gloomy business situations that would arise. Every Christmas, Jim would put on his Santa outfit and visit every employee wishing them a Merry Christmas. He would even interrupt our management meeting if we were not available with the rest of the staff. This was taken as a positive interruption as we came to expect these visits from Santa. Jim and I took some business trips together. On one trip to Middlebury, Vermont in a cool November, I did not bring gloves, Jim did. We spend the day at a construction site trading left or right gloves back and forth so we each had one warm hand. This was Jim’s sharing at work. My condolences to his family and close friends, he will be missed.

    My dear Susan and Wesley and Dale. I feel so bad that I did not know that Jim had died in February. I just found out on Saturday by a comment by someone at a party. I loved Jim. He was the nicest person and did make everyone feel happy. He was funny, kind, smart and just the kind of person this world needs. Again I am so sorry.
