April 24, 1926 – January 29, 2015
Passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton at the age of 88. Loving husband of Donna (nee Hudie) for over 62 years. Beloved father of Ian (Shana) and Peggy (Michael), Grandfather to Robert (Kristen) and Christopher (Shawna). Also survived by his sister Elizabeth (Jack) of Lyons Brook, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harry A. and Laura B. and brother David and sister Esther also niece Janice Gammon and brother and sister in infancy. Frank was a lifelong electrical engineer at Westinghouse Canada, an avid curler and enjoyed an active social life including sailing. Friends will be received by the family, on Thursday, February 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will take place on Friday February 13, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club, 10 Woodley’s Lane, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at both the Hamilton General Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Donna, Ian, Peggy and family, we were so sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. We have some wonderful memories of times spent with you in Bayfield and even more from working with Frank. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. I have very fond memories of Frank (“Charlie Brown”) and Donna with visits at Go Home and in Mississauga. I regret not being able to attend but living in Alberta makes it impractical at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this trying time. Frank was a great mentor and friend of Bryan’s. We became fast friends and spent many enjoyable times in Bayfield, Dundas, Canmore and Sciamous. Frank always had that little glint in his eye and could win anyone over in a heartbeat. He will be forever in a special place in our hearts. His expertise will be missed. We think they broke the mould.
I was very sorry to hear that Frank had passed away. As a former colleague, I had a lot of respect for him. as a person and as an engineer. My sincere condolences to the family

I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to Frank’s family and friends. Frank was well-known and well-respected amongst his extended “hydro family”. I remember our first meeting many, many, many years ago and how amazed I was that such an intelligent man could simplify his answers for a wet-behind-the-ears operator like me! Many of the Westinghouse drawings we look at today still have the A.F. Barnard signature in the title block!
Our sincere condolences to your family at this time, Frank was for a long time a wonderful dock partner at Bayfield and such a gentleman. He will be missed by all who knew him.
