Passed away at the Juravinski Hospital on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in her 93rd year after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife of the late John Wilson (2003). Loving mother to Scott and Lisa. Caring grandmother of Owen. Sister to Mary. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. Survived by her children, Donna, Dale and David (Anna) and her brother Dale. Grandmother of eight and Great Grandmother of six. Diane worked for many years at McMaster University. She was a proud member of Theta Kappa Sigma for over 70 years. Diane wished to thank Bertram Place and Tansley Woods LTC for their care and compassion. At Diane’s request there will be no funeral service. Donations in Diane’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the charity of your choice.
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on December 29, 2024 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Norma (nee Cathers) for over 63 years. Loving father to Patricia (Al) Passmore and Paul “Omp” (Angie) Arner. Caring grandfather to McKenzie (Alina) Arner, Maddison Arner, Liam Passmore, Nolan Passmore and great-grandfather to Frederick Arner. He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews; Carol (Harry) Wiens, Louise (Roger) Hatton, Gordon Arner, Neil (the late Millicent) Arner. He will also be missed by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Ron worked as an Engineer at Westinghouse for 42 years. Known for his extensive volunteer services, he received the Governor General’s Award in 2016 for volunteering with the Hamilton Unit Council of the Canadian Cancer Society, serving as board president and raising funds through the sale of daffodils. Alongside the late Dr. Jack Marlow, he established and facilitated the Hamilton Prostate Cancer Support Group to connect cancer patients, survivors and their families through common bonds. Thank you to the Nurses, PSWs and Doctors at St. Joseph’s Villa for their excellent care of Ron. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Grove Cemetery, 129 York Rd, Dundas at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Erma May Schilling (nee Muir) on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the age of 92.
Cherished mother of Vaughan (Sherry). Grandmother to Jamie (Jeff) and Mike (Sara).
Great Grandmother to Easton, Alice, Madden, Nixon, Selah and Charlie.
Will be missed by her siblings, Bill (deceased), Sadie, Mary, Shirley, George and John along with many nieces and nephews.
Erma was born and raised in Bloomfield, New Brunswick. She moved to Ontario in 1962 where she worked at Kilean Lodge Long Term Care Home in Grimsby.
In 1971 she started her Drapery business, Prestige Custom Draperies. Her work was beautiful and meticulously done to perfection. Many of Erma’s customers became great friends with her even to this day. She valued those friendships and the many friends she has had over the years.
Visitation will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, on Friday, January 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m.. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
