It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom Traver on Saturday, October 26, 2024 in his 67th year. Bravely battling cancer until the very end with the love of his life of 45 years , Sue, by his side. Tom was very proud of his children, Tyson (Brittani) and Brittney (Bryan). Beloved son of the late Anne Lesnick and cherished brother to Steve and Karen. Fun uncle to many nieces and nephews. Tom will be sadly missed by the family pet and best friend, Riley.
Tom was the best Papa to Bryson, Brady and Colton. He loved teaching them how to golf, spending many evenings hitting golf balls out back and taking them to his favourite golf course. Papa enjoyed watching them play sports (hockey and soccer), never missing a game. He enjoyed spending time with the boys playing games such as chess, monopoly and cards.
Tom was a proud carpenter for over 40 years, with two dedicated employees (Jay & Clayton). Tom was known well in the community for his passion, hard work and attention to detail.
Tom was an avid golfer, spending many summer evenings at Flamborough Hills with his golfing buddy Adrian.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nursing and medical staff of Unit C7 at the Brantford General Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Centre whose exceptional care and support were a great comfort. Sue, Tyson and Brittney would also like to thank family, friends and neighbours who helped Tom through his fight.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, in Dundas.
Tom will be missed! Deepest sympathy to Sue and her family.
I was so sad to hear of this tragedy. Sorry to hear of your loss. thinking of the Traver Family during this difficult time
Heartfelt sympathies to Sue and all the family. So sorry for your loss.
Our condolences to the Traver family. I have many memories playing hockey in the mens league, will especially miss our drives to enjoy the Magog Cup. Our fire place mantle in our home built by Tom will always be a memory of his talent & friendship.
Tom was one of the nicest people we have ever met. Tom and his crew Clayton and Jay did a number of renovations in our home and they were beautiful and top quality. Tom was professional and unflinchingly honest. We were proud to call him a friend and enjoyed many a beer at the end of the day.
Deepest condolences to Sue and his kids who he could never stop talking about with pride.
Sending my heartfelt condolences to Sue, Tyson, Brittany & family on the loss of Tom. Tom’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Tom was one of the most genuine down to earth people i have ever met, he touched the hearts of everyone he met and always made everyone feel welcome and like they were apart of the family. I send my deepest most heartfelt condolences to the traver family in this difficult time.
Tom was such a great guy. Tom and Sue lived across the road from us and were/are great neighbours and friends. He not only built my brother and sister-in-law’s house, but he has also done many renovations in our current home, and always top-notch work (with Jay and Clayton, of course). He was a kind, honest, family-loving guy who was a dear friend. He will be so missed. Sending much love to Sue, Tyson, Brittany and their loved ones at this time.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Tom was a very special person and will be dearly missed. Condolences to the Traver family
Our deepest sympathy to Sue and her family. So sorry for your loss.
When Tom was 16, he and his grandfather erected a 2nd story on our house on Linda Crt in Dundas. A very fine 2-man team. Our two young daughters were smitten. So sorry for your loss.
Sue, I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. Thinking of you and your family at this sad time.
Firstly, my condolences to the entire Traver Family during this difficult time.
For the past 44 years I knew Tom. First as a husband, then father, then a grandfather but always I knew Tom as my friend and someone who always welcomed me into his home. I can truly say that Tom was one of the most straight forward and honest persons that I knew. I have, and will always have, fond memories of our untold years of play hockey together (and discussions of the game afterwards at local establishments), our countless rounds of golf, our numerous mutual construction projects (always of course with Jay and Clayton) and our many weekend “guys” trips to Pittsburgh.
During these years I absorbed much understanding and wisdom from Tom, to enjoy life when and while you can, not to delay your “to do” list, not to judge others, never to apologize unless you meant it and to have a positive outlook on life.
Tom and his crew previously renovated much of my home, and although Tom is no longer with us, there is and always will be for me, a comforting memory of Tom in each room of my home. I will not forget Tom, but I will miss him.
Sincere condolences to Sue and all the Travers. Tom completed numerous changes and upgrades to our home (Lou & Cheryl Gagnon) that we will always cherish. He was a trusted and extremely talented professional. His memories for me will live on through our hockey, golf outings & his renovations. RIP Tom.
Sue, so sorry to hear of your loss. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
Bruce and I are just so sad to hear of Tom’s passing. He was such a nice man and I agree with others so honest and upfront. He completed a beautiful basement renovation (of course with Jay and Clayton) and did an amazing job and was right on the money. He was always able to work through problems. He spoke in depth about Sue and his children and grandchildren and we always had lots to talk about. We are so sad for all of his family. He will be missed.
Sue and family there are no words so very heartbroken for all of you. Sending love, prayers and hugs.
In the night of death a bright beam shines, for the heavens is welcoming another soul towards their eternal home. Heaven is free of pain and sorrow that we know. That is the best place of eternal abode with our Maker. Don’t worry, he is in good hands. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
Sue, no words can express the sadness for the loss of Tom. I am so sorry and saddened to hear of his passing. May your warmest memories of him surround you in this difficult time. With my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.

Tom, was a true gentleman and always went above and beyond not only in his workmanship but in all aspects in life. We will always have fond memories of Tom. RIP
The fight he had and drive to push thru, the drive you both have for each other to support one another is unwavering and I hope you find peace he is no longer suffering. Tom was a great man, and he will be missed and I am glad I got to know him and you and my heartfelt condolences to you and the family. Stay strong.
