The family of Margaret “Jean” MacLachlan (nee Gunn) is sad to announce her passing on July 28, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas. Jean will be missed by her daughters Diane, Carolyn (Peter), daughter-in-law Kathy (Mike) and her sister, Maureen. Jean was a proud aunt of nieces Marnie, Ann (Tom) and Lorna and nephews Grant and Jamie, grammie of grandchildren Ashley, David (Dava), Cailey, Mandy and great grandson Teddy. She is predeceased by her husband David, daughter Mary, sons Campbell and Graham, her sister Lois, niece DeeDee, nephews Ian and Chick, and her dear devoted friend and companion Russell. Jean was proud of her nursing degree and her time nursing in Vancouver as well as her years of volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and patient transfer at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our family matriarch in her 63rd year. Doris was the beloved wife and best friend of Gary. Loving mother of Justine (Robert), Adam (Sophia), Stewart (Martha) and Canadian mother to the lads from Scotland; Scott, Craig, Dave (Nicola) and the late Andy Kerr. Oma will be missed by her grandchildren, Marcus and Emily who adored her. Doris was predeceased by her parents Rudolf and Herta Schausberger and sister Marilyn. Survived by her older sister Renate. Doris was an avid reader, crocheter, painter and overall crafter. She loved candles, holiday decorating, music, her parents, her husband, her kids, their spouses, and her grandchildren. She loved her trailer at the French River, music of all kinds, cooking and baking. She was a Schausberger to her core. We will all miss her smile, her laugh, and her warm embrace. Thank you to Dr. Shaw and the team at Juravinski for their continuous support. Special thank you to Margaret’s Hospice for the love and kindness they showed not only to our mother but our father Gary as well. A Celebration of life will take place at their residence at a future date to honor Doris.
With great sadness, the family announce the death of Jean on July 18th at St. Joseph’s Villa at 87 years of age. Beloved wife and best friend of Ronald (deceased) and dedicated, loving mother of Craig. He was the best thing that ever happened to her, and she talked about him to anyone and everyone until her last days. Predeceased by her father George, mother Margaret and brother Ronald Davey. She will be remembered and greatly missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and co-workers. Prior to her retirement in 1998, Jean worked for many years in the insurance industry, most of that time with the firm of W.A. Hackett & Company Insurance Adjusters. Jean was a life-long resident of Dundas and was actively involved in community service work, especially with individuals with developmental disabilities, through the Dundas District Civitan Club. Jean was a charter member of that Club and a Past President. She was instrumental in the founding of the Dundas Learning Centre and was a staff/volunteer at the Centre for many years. Jean was involved in Special Olympics and with her husband Ron, they began the Dundas Alley Cats Special Olympics Bowling League. She had a big personality, a wicked sense of humour and a huge heart. The family will be having a private service and celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dundas District Civitan Club, St. Joseph’s Villa, or the Chartwell Georgian would be appreciated by the family.

Loving mother of Gaye Welch, Barbara, and David (Teri). Nanny will be missed by her grandchildren, Bree-Anne and Kyle, Shelley, Lisa (Alam), Scott (Michaella) and Jenna (Greg). She was proud to be Great Nanny to Olivier, Violette and Nicholas, Nyla, Lina and Nadia, Nora and Charlotte, George and Felix. Florence was predeceased by her brothers Sidney, Charles, Thomas and George and will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. She was an avid gardener, a long-time member of Dundas Valley G. & C.C. and an R.C.A.F. wife based in Gimli, MB. during W.W.II. The family would like to thank Ridgeview L.T.C. for their care. Kelly Britz of Hamilton, Ontario passed away peacefully at home, in his sleep. Kelly was born and raised in Dundas, and was the youngest of five children. Kelly spent his formative years in Dundas attending grade school and high school in town before moving to Hamilton to open a business. He was a very skilled fisherman and took great pleasure in it over the years. Kelly was also a wizard with tools and made it his career for a short time in his life. Life wasn’t always easy but Kelly did it his own way and abided by his choices. Kelly had the best laugh in the world! So infectious and so original! Kelly was predeceased by his loving Mother and Father, Theresa and Clemens Britz; his sisters Florence, Darlene, his brother Ronald and sister-in-law Maureen (Moe) Britz. Kelly leaves behind his loving wife Lori Loucas. They were everything to each other and best friends throughout anything life sent their way. She will find comfort in their memories of happy times and will carry his love with her. Also, left to mourn their Father, are Kelly’s precious children Katelyn and Tyler. Kelly is survived by his big brother Del who will remember him always with love. He will also be sadly missed by a legion of nieces and nephews who will hold him in their hearts forever. Kelly wished to be cremated and there will be no service. If you wish, a donation may be made to Cancer Assistance Program, Hamilton or Margaret’s Place, Dundas.
