April 13, 1946 – May 8, 2024
Passing away peacefully on May 8, 2024, in his 78th year, Bill is reunited with his parents William and Barbara.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Truax), and his daughters Cheryl (Michael) Gemmell, and Karen (Dat Pham) and by his grandchildren, Meredith, Henry, and Gracie, who he asked after every day.
There will be an empty chair at the card table as he is missed by brothers Mike (Pat), Phil (Sandra) and Doug (Penny).
Spending his early years in Ancaster and Dundas, he raised his family in east Hamilton before heading to Markstay, ON. Retiring to Dunnville and returning to Hamilton to be with Sharon when her care needs changed.
Bill was a life-long “do-it-yourselfer” He will be remembered for his gift with numbers as a bookkeeper, property manager, and tavern owner.
We know Bill has found a place to cast his line while he waits for the fish to bite.
Family and friends are asked to honour Bill’s memory with donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Dear Sharon, Cheryl, Karen and family
I am so very sorry to hear about Bill. He was always a quiet and private person, but always very good to sit and talk to at the many family get togethers. He was a good husband, father and grandfather who will be missed.
I am sorry for your loss and I am thinking of you all at this most difficult time.
Sharon & Family
We are sending our deepest sympathy to you on the death of Bill, as a husband and father.
Bill will be sadly missed.
We all have many special memories to cherish.
Your loving brother Doug and sister-in-law Penny.
Dear Sharon, Cheryl, Karen and family
We are so very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. We remember the times we spent together in the Berkindale area when the children were small.
So many memories.
Although we lost touch with the many moves both families made, we still remembered the family.
Bill was a wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather we hear.
We know that he will be missed.
Your friends and old neighbours, Ken and Shirley Reise
