(January 19 – February 14, 2024)
“Archie” was born January 19 at 1:48 p.m. to parents Taylor and Elijah Laman in Brantford. After 26 days of perfection, he passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father in the early morning of February 14. In his brief life on earth, Archie touched countless lives through his sweet smiles and love of cuddling. Although we miss him dearly, his memory lives on through the donation of his heart valves to a baby in need. Archer is greeted in Heaven by his two siblings and many cousins gone too soon through miscarriage and illness. Although we mourn here, Heaven rejoices! We can rejoice also, knowing that it is only “Goodbye” for now.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22 from 6:00-9:00 p.m., and the funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedarview Church (20 Cedar St, Paris), with interment to follow.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, we invite donations in Archie’s memory to SHYP House (Supportive Housing for Young Parents), a local Brantford foundation in support of young mothers and their children. (Visit whynotcitymissions.com/shyp – please note “In memory of Archie”)
Please keep the precious baby who received the organ donation in your prayers, that they may heal and thrive, and the Lord will give them a beautiful life.
“He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart” – Isaiah 40:11
What a beautiful gift baby Archie was able to give another family. May God hold you all so close during this time and honour your absolute selflessness in your own grief. We continue to pray for you all.
Psalm 34: 18 “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.”
May the Lord Himself be near both of you and strengthen you.
Love Grandma & Grandpa Laman
What a wonderful way to write an obituary. My attention was drawn first because my family name is SLAMAN, originally from Brantford as well
You obviously love LIFE and love the LORD of LIFE. Bless you! May you meet the deceased little ones in heaven – a long time from now. And bless the recipient baby
We hope and pray our great God will give you and your family the peace that passes understanding as promised to those who love the Lord. We are thinking of and praying for you !
Taylor and Elijah, there are no right words. You are in my prayers and I will pray for the little one who received Archie’s heart valves as well.
We agree with you in prayer that the baby who received the organ donation will heal & thrive and the Lord will give them a beautiful life. What a precious gift Archie continues to be!
We are amazed by your attitude and acts of selflessness. May the Lord continue to fill you with His peace, love and strength.
Love, big hugs and prayers from Joe, Karin & Abby xo
