MacLean, Mary (née Evans)

September 7, 1941 -December 7, 2023

Peacefully on December 7, 2023, at the age of 82 years.  Predeceased by her brothers Ted and John.  She will be lovingly missed by her children, Timothy MacLean and Kimberly McGurrin (Timothy); granddaughter Locksley MacLean; sister-in law Helen Evans, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary was born in Stockton-on-Tees, completed her studies in nursing at Newcastle and midwifery at Oxford, and travelled the world with her young family as the bride of a Canadian army officer, before settling in Ontario.   In Ontario, she first owned and later clerked in gift boutiques, remaining active and working into her 80’s.  She was always busy with her family, church community, love of dogs, gardening and the horticultural society.   

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church in Dundas, Ontario at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 16, 2023, with reception to follow at the church.  To view the livestream, please click this link.
