Childs, Ernest

Peacefully at Wentworth Lodge on Friday, December 31, 2021, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Doll) and dear father of Wayne (Dawn) and the late Gary and father-in-law of Judi. Sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren; Matthew (Terri), Natalie, Benjamin (Robin), Stephanie (Brent) and Joe and by his 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother and sisters. Ernest was a member of the RASC England following WW II. Friends will be received by the family on January 13, 2022 from 1 until 2 o’clock at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. COVID-19 protocols will be in place, proof of vaccination and the wearing of masks will be required to attend. The Service will be livestreamed for those who can’t attend, see link on the Funeral Home website under Ernest’s obituary. A private interment will take place following the Service at Grove Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth Lodge for their care and support. Expressions of sympathy to the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.

Muir, Suzanne

Peacefully passed away at the age of 83, on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at St. Peter’s Residence in Hamilton. Predeceased by her parents Myrtle Lampman and David Muir, her sister Arlene Stables and brother David Muir. Suzanne had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all adored her. She was retired from International Harvester/Case. The family thanks the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital (Dogwood Terrace) for their wonderful support. A private graveside service will be held at Holy Sepulchre, Burlington at a later date.

Benton, Jean Marie

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on January 5, 2022 in her 86th year. Loving sister to Susan, Norma (Jim – predeceased) Verrall, and George (Katie). Predeceased by sisters Marion (Barry) Larkin and Beatrice (Hank) Lemon. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Life-long resident of the Town of Dundas and long-time employee of CIBC. Special thanks to the Ontario Healthcare Workers and to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the DeafBlind Ontario Foundation. A private service has taken place.

Duke, Madeline Faye (nee Strong)

Unexpectedly in her sleep on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, Madeline has been rewarded with everlasting peace having been a faithful and devoted wife of Melvyn for near 59 years, a nurturing mother of Murray and Michele, an adoring Grandma for Misty, Marina and Melody’s proud great-grandma to Tanner, Haley and Damian. Cremation has taken place and a social time of celebration will be held at a later date.
