December 2, 1948 – December 29, 2017
Vig, Elisabeth – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2017. She was incredibly strong, caring and compassionate, and cherished most her family and friends. Elisabeth treasured her childhood memories from Szeged, Hungary, which she spent with her beloved parents, Iren and Erno Grandpierre, along with 9 adoring siblings. She loved to spend her time caring for her grandchildren, Leaf and Rain, and enjoying cottage life with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her husband Miklos, son Rob, daughter Jacky, and many others. The family would like to express great appreciation for the quality of care and compassion bestowed by the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital over the past month. Friends will be received by the family on Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home,53 Main Street, Dundas. In keeping with Elisabeth’s wishes, there will be no Service, rather, she would prefer to be remembered in celebration. If you so wish, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Édes Erzsike nyugodj Békében.” Álmodj Királylány”. Királynő voltál – Szépségeddel – Szereteteddel -Önfeláldozó figyelmességeddel. Mikor köztünk voltál Velünk volt a Boldogság. Fájdalmad Nekünk kín szenvedés volt. Elvesztésed mérhetetlen Gyászba sodort. Habár messzeség választott el Minket, Szívünkben, Lelkünkben mindig Velünk voltál – óvtunk, őriztünk, mint legdrágább gyémántkövet. Vártuk jöttödet, mint áldott Boldogságot, melyet kedves szavad, mosolyod Nekünk hozott. Most óly nagy fájdalmunk, erőnk sincsen csak a küzdelem, viaskodás az érthetetlennel. Nincs enyhület a sors miért vett el, miért kellett íly szőrnyen szenvedned? Koszonjuk, hogy itt voltal. Velunk voltal joban es rosszban. Köszönjük, hogy Hozzánk tartoztál, Köszönjük,hogy Nekünk Voltál

Dear Miki and family,
We were sorry to hear that Elisabeth has passed. We will always remember her as a welcoming neighbour who had a lot of interesting life experiencing tales to tell and a pot of Hungarian stew on the fire pit. Here in Florida, we will have a wee drop of Bourbon and cherish those memories.
Our thoughts are with you,
Ted and Carol Mobberley
