Burgess, George Henry

June 25, 1925 – July 28, 2017

BURGESS, George Henry: with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of George at Wentworth Lodge in his 93rd year on July 28, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lee Burgess (nee Liota), his cherished children: Phil (Mary Linda), Carol, Aida Hyshka (Tim), and his beloved grandchildren: Tricia Catizzone (Chris), Annamarie.  He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends.  Predeceased by his parents, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. George was a WWII air force veteran having served on the West Coast of Canada.  He worked for many years for Aylmer/Delmonte.  He was a Faithful 4th degree Grand Knight with Bishop Ryan Assembly 868 Knights of Columbus.  He volunteered several years with Knights of Columbus McGivney Homes and St Joseph’s Villa Foundation.  He served on the local Dundas Hydro Commission.  George had a passion for music and was a past member of both the Mohawk College Choir and St Augustine’s Church choir. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr. James Williams and staff, staff and volunteers of Wentworth Lodge and staff of Georgian Retirement Residence for their compassionate and loving care. Friends will be received on Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 o’clock at ST. AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH, 58 SYDENHAM ST., Dundas with reception to follow. Interment will take place at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in the afternoon.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the  Canadian Diabetes Association or the Hamilton-Halton Alzheimer Society.

Fischer, Inge (nee Galinat)

October 23, 1926 – July 20, 2017

Fischer, Inge (nee Galinat) – Passed away peacefully at Victoria Gardens LTC in Hamilton on July 20, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 2pm – 4pm at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Dundas, Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Cornell, Susan Jane “Sue”

 

Cornell, Susan Jane “Sue” – After a brief illness, Sue passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Juravinski Hospital.  She will be dearly loved and remembered by her sisters Jennifer (Dennis Rowley) and Connie (Len Wickens), brothers Kevin (Debbie) and Dan (Karen), Gord (predeceased), step-brothers Ray Ryckman (Gert) and Richard Ryckman and step-sister Lorraine Ryckman. Cherished always by her nieces and nephews Connie (Rick), Jessica (Tim), Shane (Jen), Ashley, Jason and Courtney; great-nieces and nephews Emma, Michael, Christopher, Kayla and Jesse.  Always remembered and missed by her cousin Jane Morris and good friends Lynn and Mel Horner.  Predeceased by her parents Nelson and Myrtle and step-father Charles Ryckman.  Sue loved her shopping trips to the U.S., trips to Scotland and the east coast of Canada, her trips with Lynn to Nancy’s, her yearly stay at Turkey Point at Connie and Rick’s trailer and she loved to watch Tim race his car.  Special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion for Sue during her stay.  In keeping with Sue’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  If you so wish, donations to the Juravinski Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Fletcher, Carly Catherine

Fletcher, Carly Catherine – With broken hearts we announce the passing of Carly on Thursday, July 13, 2017.  Loved daughter of Roy and Cathy Fletcher of Dundas, brother Kyle Fletcher, Copetown.  Carly leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She will be mourned by Nana Saccomano.  Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-9 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.  If you so wish, donations to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.

Kiss, Steven David

Kiss, Steve – Passed away suddenly at home in his 62nd year. Loving brother to John, James (Rita), Suzanne (Jeff), and Belinda. Survived by his mother Arlene as well as his aunts and uncles Suzanne, Margaret, Steve, Annie and Tony. Also sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Amy, Bradley, Emily, Michaela, Andrew, Dawson and great-niece Olivia. Steve was predeceased by his father Carmen and uncle David. Cremation has taken place.
