Groth, Wanda – (nee Bluemke) in her 91st year, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on November 30, 2013.  Preceded by her dear husbands (Rudolf Brucker, World War II) and Otto Groth. Dear mother of Trudy Kastrau (Hamilton); Hilda Krueger (Klaus) (South Carolina); Rosemarie Goos (Jim) (Pembroke) and the late Bernard Groth. She will also be missed by her sisters Emma Hapke (late Edward), and Rosamund Schachtschneider (late Robert) and sister-in-law Natalie Bluemke (late Ewald). She was a wonderful Oma to seven grandchildren and an Urgross-Oma to eight. Wanda will also be missed by many in Canada, United States and Germany. Friends will be received by the family on Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Wanda’s Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Grove Cemetery, Dundas. A special thank you to the nursing staff of St Joseph’s Villa (Primrose).  As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society, St. Joseph’s Villa or St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Herfst, Hugo – Suddenly, the Lord took unto Himself, our dear Husband, Father and Opa on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Beloved husband of 57 years to Margaret and loving father to: Elizabeth (Gord Vandenbeukel) of Boston; ON, Ken (Jackie) of Guatemala; Marlene (Harry Leegstra) of Brantford; Robert (Hope) of Campbellford; Yvonne (Albert Boekestein) of Dundas; Joanne (Evert Winkels) of Brantford and Eva (David Robinson) of Cambridge. Loving Opa to 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Hugo is survived by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Predeceased by 3 brothers. Friends will be received by the family on Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at Ebenezer Free Reformed Church, Weir’s Lane, Dundas. Pastor Bilkes officiating. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery. Winder, John William (“DOC”) – Suddenly on Sunday, November 24, 2013 John passed away at home, now to be joined in the loving of arms of his wife Maureen  (2012).  Dearly loved and missed by his daughter Terry Winder-Sholer (John Sholer). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Joshua and Jamie (JJ) Sholer,  great-grandson Tyler Sholer, brother-in-law Ronald Hodgman (Louise) and nephews  Derek Hodgman and Bruce Hodgman (Tracey Starr). A very special thank you to Chantale LaRocque for her care and friendship over the past year.  John was a graduate from Bishops University in Lennoxville, Quebec.  He was employed as a Chemist at Firestone for over 20 years.  Proudly he was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Dundas Valley Lodge for over 50 years.  Friends will be received by the family on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where John’s Service will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2:00.  Masonic Service 9:00 p.m. Friday night following visitation. Cremation has taken place.  Interment at a later date.  In kindness, donations to the Heart &  Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association

Southall, Wilma Manning (nee Dixon) – Surrounded with the love of her family, Wilma Southall, beloved wife of the late John M. (Jack) Southall, passed away at Wentworth Lodge on Saturday, November 23, 2013, in her 90th year. Loving mother of John (Jack, Jr.); Ellen; Janet; Marnie & David Strauch; Cathy & John Woodley. Proud Nana of Jay Southall; Lee (Tony) Rumleskie; Sherri (Anthony) Cassano; Jessica & Anna Southall-Millward; Jennifer Evans; Jeffrey (Jennifer) Strauch; Amy Beth (Paul) Ksiazek; Jacqueline (Julien Patenaude), Rebecca & Andrew Woodley. Great Nana to Zoe & Jackson Rumleskie; Sophie & Lily Cassano; James & Emily Ksiazek & Henri Patenaude. A Graduate of McMaster & of Wilfred Laurier Universities, with a Masters of Social Work, Wilma completed her career as Director of Social Work at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas. A life long resident of Dundas, Wilma was an active member of St. James’ Anglican Church; a Dundas Town Councillor 1988-1997; Past Chair of the Dundas Museum Board and a  member of the Dundas Travel Club. If desired, donations may be made to the St. James’ Anglican Church Memorial Fund or to St. Matthew’s House. Visitation will take place at Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas on Tuesday, November 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at 1 p.m. at ST. Charman, Thomas Andrew “Tom”

August 26, 1958 – November 18, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Andrew Charman, in his 56th year, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on November 18, 2013. Beloved son of the late John D. (Jack) and Carolyn Ann Charman. Also predeceased by his sister Carol and nephew Anthony. Loved brother of David (Susan) and best friend to his sister Sue Church. A treasured uncle to Gary Church (Lisa), Chris (Selena), Jennifer, Shanne (Ty) and Beau Barrett. Special great-uncle to his numerous great-nieces and nephews. Tom will be greatly missed by all of his family as well as his extended family at the Good Shepherd McGinty House where he resided. Tom was well known for his great love of fishing and his kind and thoughtful demeanour towards everyone he knew.  The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Good Shepherd McGinty House, as well as the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital Unit A-2 and the St Joseph’s Emergency department. Visitation will be held at Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas (905-628-6412), on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m, where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment following the funeral at Grove Cemetery, York Road, Dundas.
