Devoted wife of Frank (2007) for almost 59 years. Much loved Mother of Anna Marie Goldmann (Ken) of Greensville, Pam Holliday (Greig) of Toronto, Greg Adams (Cindy) of Stockton, California. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Jeff (Jennifer), Paula, Kaitlin (Shayne), Grant, Ashley (Alex) and Stephen (Cyndy). Loving Great-Grandmother of Tyler, Leah, Keandra, Nathan, Averi and Abby. Predeceased by parents John Wesley and Anna Grightmire, brother Hugh Grightmire (Hilda), and grandson Wesley Goldmann.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Greensville and lifetime member of Christ Church Flamborough at Bullock’s Corners. She was awarded the Order of Niagara (O.N.) by Bishop Michael Bird in October 2011. Jean graduated Hamilton Normal School in 1947 and then taught at Greensville Public School. She was a member of the West Flamborough Women’s Fellowship for over 70 years.
Jean loved accounting and managed the office for Frank’s electrical contracting business for over 35 years. She believed in continuous education, and was an avid reader and member of the Ladies Bridge Club plus duplicate bridge with Frank. She was a huge fan of garage sales, antiquing, board games, crokinole and spent decades of summers in Meaford swimming, gardening and entertaining relatives. Her love of gardening led to a home full of beautiful flowers and delicious fresh and healthy meals. Winters in Destin, Florida with the snowbird community encouraged square dancing, potlucks, and lots of fun activities.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9, and Tuesday, October 24th at 10 am at Christ Church Flamborough, 92 Highway #8 Bullock’s Corners (Dundas, ON, L9H 4V5) where the service will follow at 11 am. Interment at Christ Church Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.

It is with deep sorrow we regret to inform you that Kenneth Rous passed away peacefully in his home on October 11, 2023.
Born on January 31, 1963, Kenneth was predeceased by his loving father, Spencer Rous, and mother Dorothy Leegstra. Ken spent man years following his passion of farming before eventually going to work at Toyota where he made lasting friendships with his coworkers. He will be lovingly remembered by his five children, his grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2023, 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street in Dundas. The funeral service will be at Providence FRC St. George on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with lunch to follow. Private family interment will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Copetown on Wednesday prior to the service.
Garry “Wilf” Wilfred KELLY. A beacon of strength, faith, and boundless love departed us at Juravinski Hospital on October 6, 2023. With a union spanning 54 beautiful years, Wilf and his treasured wife, Linda, built a tapestry of love and commitment that served as an inspiring testament to all. A devoted father to Matthew and David (Melissa), and a doting grandfather, or “Papa”, to Erin and Griffin.
Born on September 22, 1946, in Brockville, Ontario, Wilf was the cherished son of Wilfred and Aileen Kelly, and a dear brother to Shirley (George), Wayne (Linda), and Tom (Joan). Wilf filled the lives of his family and friends with wisdom, stories, and laughter, always ready to share anecdotes and moments of joy.
Wilf was a resident of Dundas where he led Curry, Elkin & Kelly Insurance Brokers with dedication and integrity until his retirement in 2007. He served his community as a trusted advisor and font of knowledge to many, always with a smile and open heart.
A sports enthusiast, Wilf found joy in golf, basketball, and football, and held membership at the Dundas Golf & Country Club and Royal Wood in Naples, Florida. He was a devoted Catholic, living his life in faithful service to others and embodying the principle of treating others with kindness and respect. After courageously battling cancer, with Linda unwaveringly by his side, Wilf leaves behind a legacy that will continue to light the way for his loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home for visitation at 53 Main St, Dundas, on Thursday, October 12th from 6-8 pm. A Mass celebrating Wilf’s life is scheduled at St. Augustine’s Parish, 58 Sydenham Rd, Dundas, on Friday, October 13th at 1:00 pm, with a private family interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery to follow. There are too many people to name who were special to Wilf but thank you for your love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Wilf’s memory.
Ronald Hugh Buttrum, in his 87th year, passed away suddenly on his family farm in rural Flamborough, on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, with his son by his side. Ron left us with his boots on the ground, doing what he loved best – farming until the very last moment of his life. He has gone to join his beloved wife of 44 years, Etelka (2008) and his daughter Kathy (2022) who was always his shining star. Ron leaves behind his loving son (and farming partner extraordinaire) Hugh Scott Buttrum (Roberta Benallick), his dear son-in-law Dale Young (Kathy Buttrum, predeceased), Roberta’s children Krista and Jacob (Noelle) and grandchildren Hazel and Hudson. The loss of Ron will be felt by many close friends; some of those friends were his lifelong buddies. His companionship will also be missed by his dear friend, Kay Aldgate. People who knew Ron knew him as a devoted family man, a hard-working farmer who raised cattle, hogs, and spinach, and was a respected cash cropper. For 65 years he was a Mason of the Dufferin Lodge No. 291. Ron will truly be missed by everyone. Visitors will be received on Thursday, October 12th from 3-8 pm at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, ON, where the funeral service will also take place, on Friday October 13th at 11:30 am. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Flamborough, where Ron will be laid to rest. Expressions of sympathy and memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the ALS Society of Canada.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Mary Clark Jackson, mother of Chris (Bethea), Nat, Rebekah (Ed) and Sarah (Andrew), grandma to eleven grandchildren and one great grandson, and wife to P. Kenneth, passed away peacefully at age of 85. Born to missionaries Alexander and Lily Clark in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Mary grew up in the jungles of Venezuela and Colombia, keeping up with her older brother Ian and looking out for younger brothers Al, Dan and Larry. Sister Margaret and brother Peter were born in later years. Many adventures ensued, riding donkeys and avoiding snakes, scorpions, and jaguars. Ian and Mary were sent to Canada and attended Gowans Home for Missionary Children in Collingwood. Mary then moved to Forest to live with her Grandma Adams, working at the Kellogg’s factory as a summer job.
Mary attended the University of Western Ontario in Nursing and trained at the Hamilton General. In 1966 she married Ken and adopted his son, Christopher.
Mary, Ken and Chris moved to Beverly, Massachusetts where Ken pursued graduate studies. Nat, Rebekah and Sarah were born in Beverly. Mary relished the ocean, packing up her young family for a day at Rice Beach.
The Jackson Six then returned to Canada, enjoying skating on the Rideau Canal, Miles for Millions and biking with the kids in Ottawa. Mary returned to her nursing roots, teaching prenatal classes. She was involved in the community helping Vietnamese refugees.
In 1978 the Jackson clan moved to Dundas. Mary worked many years in Public Health, palliative care and the Victorian Order of Nurses. She continued her volunteer work in the community helping others in need.
Over the years, Mary enjoyed sharing dinners with friends and family. Special time was spent at the White Cottage on Lake Simcoe, developing crafting projects and fun activities for the grandchildren Evan, Kyleigh, Megan, Hannah, Genna, Lauren, Sophie, Maya, Caleb, Morgan, Quinn and new great grandson Mackinley were enjoyed immensely. Trips to Gatineau and Denver were always memorable as Mary always strove to help in whatever way possible.
Mary was courageous and independent. She died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Her care at the Hamilton General and St Josephs Hospitals was superb and greatly appreciated.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm, followed by a visitation at 2 pm, on Monday Oct. 9 at MacNeill Baptist Church in Hamilton, ON. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to www.hamiltonhealthsciences.ca or www.stjoes.ca
