June 23, 1938 – January 2, 2026
Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on January 2, 2026, surrounded by family, in his 88th year. Ed is now reunited with the late Mona, the love of his life, and wife of 53 years.
Ed is lovingly remembered by his sons, Michael (Shauntea) and Bradley (Melissa), and grandsons Jacob (Katie) and Joel (Danielle). He is survived by his brother Russell (Tami) and sister Nancy (Walt). A devoted family man, Ed will be remembered most as a proud and loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather.
Ed and Mona loved bringing people together with legendary backyard pool parties, family picnics, neighbourhood corn roasts, and time with his cherished “FOPS.” He worked for 38 years at Cumis Insurance before he enjoyed a long and fulfilling retirement with dear friends, travelling, spending his winters in the south, and golfing.
In his later years, Ed enjoyed a lovely partnership and playing cards with Patti. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Patti for her care, kindness, and support of Ed, especially during his later years. Ed will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, January 6 from 2:00-4:00p.m. and 7:00-9:00p.m. at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, with funeral service to follow on Wednesday, January 7, 10:30a.m. at the same location.

My Condolences to all family and friends. My favourite cousin. I loved golfing with him and all the family reunions we had in his back yard.

To Carriere & Northey Families
Went to School with Ed & Mona she was in my classes at Delta, I remember Ed was a friend of my cousin Larry Simpson. They were a great couple and we went to a few parties & dances together, but I moved away from Hamilton in 1964 and never crossed paths again.
So sad for your loss, so few of our classmates left. My condolences to your families. Together again, I bet she was waiting with that silly grin as he entered. Rest In Piece, forever in love.❤️❤️
